I do remember reading somewhere that he does routinely do 15 minute rounds. He alternates sparring partners in to have a fresh body at all times.
Mayweathers would land on Hatton more than hes ever been landed on. The more u get hit the more you cut. Not saying that'd be the result but theres some chance. Hatton may have had 40 fights but most of them had 5% of the ability opf a MayweatherJ wrote:really so you think he would have been stopepd against maussa for example?
the only fight can really think of where it might have been stopepd was thaxton ill give you that.

that was removed and the subesequent amoutn fo hard fights with no sign of a cut thats caused witht he glove removes my worries about that.
The hardcore US PBF fans say he does 15miniute rounds. They say they sitch up about 5 sparing partners. So it wasn't an error on his part. Could it be disinformation? Perhapsjamesmcdonnell wrote:That was an error on Max's part. I'm pretty sure he meant to say 15 four minute rounds.Max Molyneux wrote:What proof is there that he spars 15 minute rounds? No way can he take rounds off like with Brusseles Hatton would make him pay for it.
Mayweathers shots are really fast but trading with Hatton will be hard as Hatton's the naturally stronger fighter and Floyd doesn't have one punch Ko power either.
Plus I didn't say he'd do that leaping punch on Maussa who was really tall for Hatton so no wonder he did that.
Floyd's feet will tire eventually trying to constantly keep Hatton on the outside as Hatton won't stop.
Plus this will be Floyd's step up at Light welter or welter.
I KNOW floyd spars 15 four minute rounds, because Doug Fischer has been to his training camp and watched him there and reported on it, whether you want to believe it or not, Mayweather trainss extremely hard.
Floyd has already fought sharmba Mitchell at Welterweight....
I don't think there is much difference in their punch power personally, Hatton's best work has always been to the body, his power with head shots really is nothing special. Yes he will be physically stronger, but that counts for little if he cannot get close to Mayweather.
It will be just as draining for Hatton to chase after mayweather getting hit in return for 12 rounds as it will Mayweather moving around peppering him.
Mayweather dealt with Castillo (who is really a light welterweight) for 12 rounds twice without coming close to getting stopped, and I think Castillo punches harder than Hatton too.

To be honest J, in the US I really could see Hatton getting stopped on cuts. Admittedly his cuts recently have been from headbutts, but Mayweathers slashing shots could well open up scar tissue, despite his plastic surgery, Hatton has had a lot of cuts early in his career, and that means scar tissue, no cutsman can prevent that.J wrote:really so you think he would have been stopepd against maussa for example?

paul thomas was the referee for the thaxton fight. i agree hatton was a very lucky man that night.jamesmcdonnell wrote:To be honest J, in the US I really could see Hatton getting stopped on cuts. The cut that Hatton had against Maussa, I have seen fights stopped on before in big US fights. fornicate, against Thaxton Hattons shorts looked like he'd been in a knife fight, and really he should probably have been stopped that night, but Vann gave him a lifeline.
The choice of referee can make a huge difference in a fight, and a referee like Cortez who likes clean action and doesn't allow clinches could spell disaster for Hatton in a fight with someone as slick as Mayweather.
Look what happened in Jones v Ruiz, Ruiz was admonished for holding and it totally ruined his game plan, Jones just pot shotted him all night long because ruiz was used to holding and mauling his way to a win.
So you can point out a weakness in Mayweather but not in Hatton who's defense is almost inexistant? You sure would have been useful in the corner of all of Mayweather's past opponents.hitman_hatton1 wrote:paul thomas was the referee for the thaxton fight. i agree hatton was a very lucky man that night.jamesmcdonnell wrote:To be honest J, in the US I really could see Hatton getting stopped on cuts. hatton's big fanbase and ability to deal so well with cuts has been a godsend for him. a referee over here would never live it down if they pulled hatton out on a cut.![]()
america however is a different story.first sign of blood and the doctor is brought in. over here a doctor's inspection tends to be a last resort.
i think mayweather has weaknesses. his power isn't the best and he can be put on the defensive and outworked sometimes. u could argue hatton has the perfect style to take advantage of those weaknesses.![]()
if only boxing was that simple.
watch the jesus chavez fight and tell me hatton has no chance.MaxPow wrote:So you can point out a weakness in Mayweather but not in Hatton who's defense is almost inexistant? You sure would have been useful in the corner of all of Mayweather's past opponents.
Hatton has the style to take advantage of those weanesses only because he will get so used to getting hit he wouldn't even bother with putting up any sort of defense.
It's a good thing referees don't call shots with respect to personality in the U.S.
Dude hardly anyone here will state Floyd's either. So you can point out a weakness in Mayweather but not in Hatton
Floyd can be hurt, and this was against Mitchell? Hard to say when he only got hit around 3 times. Technically speaking, covering up can be employed as a defensive maneuver. How is that a "weakness"Max Molyneux wrote:He was covering up in the Mitchell fight though when Mitchell made it look like Floyd can be hurt.

i didn't say he doesn't move around the ring.MaxPow wrote:Floyd can be hurt, and this was against Mitchell? Hard to say when he only got hit around 3 times. Technically speaking, covering up can be employed as a defensive maneuver. How is that a "weakness"
It's hard to point out Floyd's flaws because to be honest... I can't think of any. Anyone who knows boxing will tell you the same. hitman_hatton1 says he deosn't move around the ring? That is inaccurate, Floyd knows exactly where he is in the ring at all times. You will hear Larry Merchant say the same.
Floyd's punch is over-rated. They talk about this in almost all of his fights. People who fought him all say its much harder than it looks. Also, Floyd can fight off the ropes and he does it beautifully.Max Molyneux wrote:He was hit 31 times according to the compubox but he felt them shots when they landed.
Floyd ain't no unbeatable fighter at the moment either and I ain't seen this Augustus fight and it won't be like Mayweather and Corrales, Hatton has a hell of a better chin than Diego and doesn't fight like him.
He does move around alot Floyd and he does have a cover up style as when they do try to hit him he covers or blocks with his elbow, so Hatton's constant pressure could keep making him cover up and hardly do much except for trading maybe.
Tszyu ain't just no puncher either and no one was saying how washed he is before the fight, everyone was saying how easy he would KO Hatton!![]()
I don't doubt Floyd's speed but he doesn't like fighting on the ropes or pressure fighting just that Gatti was a statue and Mitchell looked like he took a dive from that 6th round body shot.
Why did he slip out of the way when Gatti was getting him near the ropes then? He covers up them jumps out of the way to counter.MaxPow wrote:Floyd's punch is over-rated. I'm sure everyone knows that Tszyu was past his prime versus Hatton.
So you're saying that when Mayweather "covers up" he won't be counter punching? That's probably his best attribute. Completely relaxed and alert at the same time while counter-punching.
It's not a question of his chin because Mayweather won't go for the KO if it isn't there. He fights smart until his opponent is there for the taking. Hatton will be cut to shreds when Mayweather is done with him. Literally. If anything, on paper Chico has a better chance at beating than Hatton, with the reach and the KO punch, and look at how that turned out.
If you insist that Hatton will beat Mayweather I obviously can't change your mind. I'm just trying to soften the blow when he gets completely humilated and made look amateurish a la Gatti. But if you want to take the brunt of the shock on fight night, go ahead.
