You reckon Hopkins was raped while inside?
160 pounds and 19 years old, I don't like his chances. It probably depends on what the conditions and timing of his conversion to Islam were.
Hopkins once said that when he first got into Grateford , he found out who the toughest guy in there was and then proceded to knock his teeth out. Only men that get raped in prison are the men that show signs of weakness. If u think you are gonna get raped then the chances are you will...its all in the way you carry yourself.

He got jocked on his decision losses to both those guys....two guys from Philly getting wins in Philly. Notice what Hagler did to them in the rematches.

Bobby Watts - TKO 2
Monroe - TKO 12, TKO 2

He said after the Monroe loss he'd do everything in his power never to let it get to the judges again...well he wasn't far off. 26-2-1 after that fight, 6 or 7 of his next 38 fights went to the cards. 80-87 Marvin dominated that division.

I was at the Hamsho fight in 81 in Rosemont Ill. Hagler was a machine. Devastating.

I'm the biggest Hagler fan you'll see - but Hagler lost the first fight against Monroe badly. It was no hometown decision. Hagler claimed he had bronchitis before the fight and it affected his training. Monroe kicked his ass. Hagler's nose was gushing all night, and both his eyes were swollen shut - he had to be led back to the dressing room.

If anything, it's a testament to Hagler's heart and willingness.

When he was four-months-old, I toyed with the idea of taking him to see Hopkins-Taylor I. 80 years from now, he could be on a message board, talking about how he went to a Bernard Hopkins fight. The kids'd think he was a million years old.
Great idea. :TU: :TU:

Taking him to say he was there is great, but I'd save the money now and bring him to fight when he's 4 or 5 years old and appreciates the sport and can comprehend whats going on. I think any athletic event isn't the place to bring an infant due to what can occur there on a regular basis (drunkeness, fghts in the stands, lude comments, yadda yadda)
