Is Gomez just going through the motions these days? Its tough to tell how much he has left as he has come back from some horrible performances in the past, however there are only so many times you can go to the well!

he will bring the fight to mcdonagh, i have no doubt, but pete has never been stopped and many believed he beat david burke who is also a class act.

I think there is a big difference between being "shot" for want of a less pejorative word and being ill prepared and over confident.

Against Lear, I think it was the latter and he proved it bycoming back and beating AA. Against Alvarez, it was definitely the former and, if there was ever a time he would be taken, now is it. He looks a VERY old 28

For all the talk, I think it would be a truly brutal night for him if he ever got back in with Arthur.

Totally agree. Gomez has obvisouly written his body off with all the years of abuse. He looked like a man wading through treacle in his last fight, and couldn't get the punches off, and his balance and timing was in shreds.

Arthur was overconfident against Gomez, he wouldn't make the same mistake twice, and I think he would hand Gomez a fearful battering.

I'm sorry to say I've not followed domestic boxing lately at all, and hadn't seen McDonagh previously, so aside from reading a record not much opinion.

However, having seen how bad gomez looked I'd have to give any competent boxer a chance, he looked terribly shot. Either he'd been on a massive bender the days before the bout or he's shot to pieces.
