The kid was blinking alot before the fight...nerves most likely, but it seemed to me he was complaining about catching something in the eye, when he got stopped.

I don't think he knew his arse from his elbow after he got hit, he never saw the shot coming at all and it caught him square on. Might have fractured his orbit actually looking at where it landed. He didn't seem to know which way was up the way he was bumbling about.

Martynov's positioning just before the KO was so naive.

He moved away in a straight line towards the ropes - bolt upright, bringing himself square whilst doing so, and absent-mindedly relaxed his guard.
Khan's punch was thrown as a formality, rather than in immediate reply to the opening.

Amir is progressing well, but there are still too many echoes of Herol Graham and Naz for my liking.

(Speaking of Hamed: this KO reminded me of his first win over Ricky Beard, where the finish was too comfortable. Confidence got ahead of Naz due to a succession of under-matched opponents. No disrespect to those guys.)

A good journeyman or two is needed now.

Also, I really think too many home fights are bad for a boxer at the start of their career.
Obviously, it's where the money is until you're on the world scene.

I believe Khan would strengthen emotionally from taking fights in Eastern Europe now, then across America after a couple of years.

Had just opend a tinny when khan landed a left hook...and i said to our lass that the fight would be over before i drank it......but fornicating hell....never even got to smell it.....never mind taste it...

I think it`s time to put Amir in with someone half decent.

Disagree with most of your comments. You seem overly critical. As for the comparison with Naz and Graham, I would take that as a compliment If I were Khan. He is doing everything right at the moment and all that he can. Perhaps you might like to point out the positive aspects of Khan.

How was he blown up? Khan could do no more than he did, stopped what was put in front of him.

Anyway, BBC reports that Oliver Harrison has said he would put Amir in with anyone right now and Amir would win. He says he is ready for a title shot right now. Of course the BBBoC wont let that happen.

Why won't they let that happen?

Danny Griffiths of The Metro ( or sportsnetwork judging by the way he praises their every move ) writes about Khan today like Amir has just taken out Diego Corrales.

Then quotes his trainer as saying Khan is so good he's already equipped to take on the best in the light welterweight division.
