I think it depends how much punishment they take... Duran was a pro from about 16 to 51 but had such a great defence and all round skill (very underrated) that he took far fewer punches than most think...vagabundo55 wrote:That's another good example but as I said, it usually happens not always... there are a few such as Morales, Barrera, etc. that don't end so quickly. I wonder why.. (probably because they face lower class competition until they're bodies are more of like that of an adult's than that of a teenager..)expug wrote:Yep Sean Ogrady turned pro at 16 retired at 24. Maybe he made some dough at least.vagabundo55 wrote: Wilfredo Benitez was a world champ by age 17. Anyway, usually boxers who start too early are finished early as well.
Who managed this poor young lad? 9 year old PRO

good to see you're still posting. This board could do with a few more knowledgeable fellas like yourself.
Did you get those Times articles I e-mailed you a while back?

I am very interested in Nipper Pat Daly's Welsh connection.
I notice that Nipper Pat Daly was born in Abercrave but that his hometown is listed as Marylebone, London.
As he was born in Wales, would I be right in assuming that he considered himself Welsh? There may seem to be an obvious answer but sometimes when a person lives most of their life in another country they consider themselves a native of that country (or even a native of their parent's country).
If he considered himself Welsh, would you be agreeable to my using his fight record, pictures and the bio that you wrote on the WELSH WARRIORS website (http://www.johnnyowen.com) - obviously, full credit will be given to you as author of the piece.
