It was an awfull performance from Audley, but I think the reality of it will give him a kick up the backside.

I dont think we will ever see Audley perform like that again. Is that possible Fingers crossed.

I don't see where Audley fits in at all. Skelton is way too limited for world scene. Williams is too old and slow - that's the reality.

Barring W Klitcshko (who is ready for the taking) Byrd, Toney, Brewster, would stuff any UK <televised> heavyweight outright.

Not old but he is slow Danny.

Danny has loads of ability, but he's way too slow. He's an old school fighter in that if tonights fight was over 15 Danny would have stopped Matt no problem.

How is Wlad ready for the taking? He's one of the strongest HW's out there.

Skelton wants to thank his lucky stars that O Connor was so lenient. Skelton planted the head on Williams so many times it was untrue, and he was wrestling far too often. You're allowed to work on the inside, but a referee is entirely right to break it up if someone simply wades in and starts mauling their opponent, as otherwise it nullifies any skill from the equation.

Danny was poor in spells, but throughout the fight he landed the cleaner and more authoratitive blows, he landed a lot of body shots throughout the fight and jabs which the commentators scarecely seemed to notice or give any credit to.

I wish I had taped that fight so I could watch it again, but I really didn't think Skelton was anywhere near deserving that fight, very little in the way of clean punches landed by Matt.

Wlad is too gunshy to be a major factor. Thats why they throw him in with the shot and non-punching Byrd and not Brewster. Beating the crude Peter would have done him some favours....but the 2 knockdowns wouldnt. He was just so worried about his stamina that he didnt open up until the last minute in the 12th and even then he wobbled Peter.

Maybe Gammer should chase McBride, if he beats McBride he can maybe force himself into a bigger fight.

I had the feeling Frank was dissapointed at Williams winning. I think Skelton would have been more marketable for Warren. Undefeated means alot anywhere these days. A Williams who was seen demolished worldwide by Klitschko, and comes back for another crack doesn't have much appeal.

The Tyson win's credibility has shot right down from the claimed leg injury to what happened in the Tyson-McBride fight.

I think Warren fancied his chances negotiating a world title fight for Skelton, but i dont think he is keen on the hard work involved getting Williams another shot. Remember Frank has always been quick to slate Williams in the past, even over him leaving a recent press conference. Hence the rematch comment. I don't think Williams is high on SN's agenda.

Yes, It was quite apparent that Warren immediately downplayed any talk of a fight with Valuev, which wasn't that likely anyway. When asked about it, Warren immediately started talking up a rematch.

I think Warren probably expected Skelton to win, and Danny hasn't exactly ingratiated himself lately, except for spanking Audley, when Warren could be clearly seen jumping for joy as Audley toppled to the canvas, much as thousands of us around the country did.

I guess the only real hope for the British Heavyweight scene is David Haye (when he moves up) ............

Well I pretty much knew that before this fight to be honest. Skelton doesn't have any boxing skills and Williams lacks confidence (he does have heart but he doesn't have confidence in his own power or his own ability, which is quite annoying to be honest).

I laughed for ages when a newspaper boxing column the day after the Williams-Harrison fight said 'the best punch of the fight was the monstrous right hand thrown by promotor allegedly sitting at ringside when Audley Harrison was decked'.

You mean the fight where Peter put him down on the mat a couple of times? He was scared of his life about getting hit in that fight with Peter and any half decent shot Peter landed floored Wlad. Wlad only got by in that fight cause Peter was slow and plodding.

Yeh I know he has a paper chin, if he could get past those nerves though.

I still think he will KO Byrd.

Hats off to Skelton & Williams for putting on a decent show & showing heart & desire in a fight.

I hope Mr Harrison watched this fight & hung his head in shame.
