No you wouldn't. You would have guys who are that single weight dominating, even against taller, stronger opponents. Say everyone fought at 168. You think Nicolay Valuev would be a pro boxer at 168? The guy weighs twice that much. Weight is a gigantic factor in boxing, and dismissing it is impossible.
Like I said, there is no way to discuss who wins between Valuev and Hamed because there is a huge height, weight, reach difference, and there is no similar or measureable competition in which you can measure them by.
im saying imagine they were the same weight which would affect the height. For Valuev to be a feather (although naz probably outweighs nicolay now) he would be littler, lets say 5'6. I realse it sounds ridiculous but if you imagine he wasnt that tall, im not saying imagine he was anorexic and could therefore fight hamed. I dont know how to explain it really, if u have to ask the sad thing is u will never know...

This is just getting pointless. Fighters who have a longer reach use it to their advantage. Taking away that advantage changes their style completely. So, you wanna make Hamed taller, or Valuev shorter? Seriously, there is no way to compare every fighter vs another fighter.
its not u just have to imagine it. Because valuev is soooooooooo huge he would probably stil have a reach advantage, like in leonard hearns, they fought at the same weight but were nowhere near the same height, reach or body type. It doesnt matter who u make bigger or who u make smaller the point is that they reach a mutual weight, so depending on body type it could be a leonard hearns style match eg. ricky hatton would be short at any weight because of his body type. Imagine if Calzaghe was small so that his body type would stay the same, just diminished in proportion and dimension, so that he could then fight cotto or whatever, then theres no limits to the matchups you could imagine

Valuev weighs almost 3 times as much as Hamed did while fighting. How in the hell can you compare the two? You can't, thats it, no question.
bleugh! take weight out of the equation man!! How hard is it! Thats what pound for pound is! its saying regardless of weight thats how good they are, who is the best fighter.
If we were to make RJJ smaller, he'd be even faster with his handspeed, faster than Meldrick Taylor, and definitely faster than SRL himself by a noticeable margin, and with one-punch KO ability still intact or even increased. SRL is in serious trouble here.

Assuming pressure remains constant, we have
V/T = k
or
V1/T1 = V2/T2
or
T2 = V2T1/V1.
We assume that Roy Jones has a temperature of 37 degrees, or 310 K, we can compute the resulting temperature by assuming that the ratio of his volume would be equal to the ratio of his mass:
T2 = T1(M1/M2)
= 310(168/147)
=354K
or 81 degrees Celsius, or 178 degrees Farenheit. At this temperature, it would be dangerous for Ray Leonard to approach him, let alone box him. All Roy Jones would have to do is get Leonard into the clinch and burn him to death.

mattym wrote:its not complicated u just picture the fight happening between the two if they were somehow hypothetically at the same weight. they wouldnt necesarrily be the same height, thomas hearns is a very good example why not, but say Ali v. henry armstrong, obviously u wuld have to picture ali as a littler guy to be in the same weight class, just like u would have to picture him in a different era, it doesnt affect the fighter themselves, its to take away the fact that some people are way bigger than others so u can say morales would beat toney etc.
Ok, Valuev vs Naseem Hamed...who wins?
See how dumb taking away height and weight are, they are as important to the fight as styles can be.
well oviously theres a huge siza difference but all in all naseem wins coz hes a better fighter JESUS CHRIST GET AN IMAGINATION
As fighters go I would definitely say Ray was better in all areas. He had everything, but Jones was very good too and was more a natural Middle. But if they faced each other at 160lbs, I would definitely choose Leonard. He was not a natural Middle, but he was still very good and had the chin. stamina, speed, footwork and killer instinct to be that bit gutsier than Jones. At 168 I would probably favor the naturally bigger Jones by decision. Also I think Leonard's punching power was underestimated, he could KO guys when he nailed them clean and with the finishing of Ray and the suspect chin of Jones, maybe Leonard could take him out. A fully motivated Leonard at 160 V Jones results in a Leonard victory
