castillo stood off a lot.
when castillo stepped in and upped it, he was winning the rds.
castillo doesn't bring it with the intensity that hatton does.

Castillo got his ass handed to him when he "upped it" once Floyd adapted, which he seems to be able to do against any fighter. He doesn't bullrush head first like Hatton does but he puts on pressure like Hatton and Floyd knows what to do against guys like that.
In fact, Castillo is better than Hatton in my opinion. His punches are shorter and his technique is better.
jose "7 losses" castillo is not better than hatton.
i respect castillo a lot, he's a warrior.

but better than hatton???? not on your nelly.
mayweather threw single shots or 2 shots and weren't exactly going thru the gears and punishing castillo for stepping in.

I do think Hatton could beat Mayweather. PBF showed weakness's last night, Hatton could keep do what Judah did for the first 4 rounds for the whole 12.
Would be a great fight, Hatton wins, too much pressure.

Did you even see the fight?

No Hatton fights better than Judah. J
udah caught Mayweather with a few but didn't follow it up when Mayweather went to Defence. Hatton would be all over him like a windmill.
You are the biggest Hatton hater on here. How can we take you serious?

Maybe but these Castillo fights are 1 of the biggest myths in boxing, PBF pretty much won the first 5 in each fight and held his own after that in each - I thought the first was easier than the second.
I'd rate Ricky above Castillo - more speed and intensity. But hes also more open. I also personally think Ricky is already on the slide.
Rickys also never fought a slick boxer and that will hurt him against PBF. Castillo had fought a fair share of slicksters prior to PBF and PBF could be said to be unprepaired - we'd see a peak PBF for Hatton.
Downloading Charvez-PBF which I havent seen before which should give an interesting look at how PBF does against pressure
Anyway PBF-DLH and Hatton versus Baldomir-Gatti winner first

Also boxing isn't static PBF will have learnt from fights like Judah, Castillo, Corrales and be better for it.

Are Hattons punches as fast as Judah?

I think hatton is underrated in the handspeed department, i would say his hands could be as fast as zab's, but moving up in weight, id say they would be almost as fast. in the time judah could throw 10 ricky could throw 9 and a bit. Ricky also has a way better rhythm and pace and stamina about his work.

No his hands aren't as fast as Judah's, but he throws more and pivots his weight behind them, something Judah doesn't do.
Let's just hope this fight happens, I think it's a 50/50 fight but my moneys on Hatton.

Have heard you say Charvez a few times in here before, it's actually Chavez, is it not?

I think Mayweather would cut Hatton to ribbons. Hatton is very open, his defence is his face. Whilst Mayweather is the king of ringmanship.
However if there was one style to beat Mayweather it would be to maraud, hussle and ultimately bully him. Hatton is currently the best in boxing at fighting in such a manner.

In R1 Charvez landed 6 0f 92

HBO gave him the round
Floyd gets backed up by Charvez allot BUT Charvez finds it hard to land hardly anything noteworthy. When Mayweather dances Charvez couldn't get near.....that didn't last long.....Charvez was averaging 100 punches around......Hattons 50 a round will seem like no pressure at all then
........Wow just finnished watching Charvez fught a great fight and was a fair bit smaller than PBF. Certainly held his own and pushed PBF. Must be 1 of the most underated fighters around. thought the stoppage seemed premature bbut I guess the corner knows when their mans done.

Kingmo raises a very good point that Roger entered the ring during a time out and not in the middle of a round, I guess that would be why there was no DQ.
I noticed that none of the HBO team OR PBF mentioned Ricky Hatton at all. Before this fight the last whispers I had heard was that Hatton and PBF wouldn't get it on till 2007, but it seems like the obvious match-up to me. Will be great to see Ricky pressuring Floyd, but I think Ricky might just have an unfortunate night with cuts. Time will tell, as ever!

Actually that's not the style to beat Floyd. He can mix it and beat those guys as he has shown.
The style to beat him is a tall fighter with a good jab who has power and a chin and skills....
Vernon Forest.
It's similar to Roy vs Tarver or Mosley vs Forrest. Now, both were on the slide but that tall compact defence coupled with power and solid skills and a chin is the recipy to beat Floyd as well. Forrest can lead and can counter and has every punch in the book. Other than him, I'd take Floyd over most, Mayorga, Mosley, DLH, Boldomir, Margarito etc.
I can't say the same for Hatton.

You don't understand that because Judah was able to win the 3 of the first 4 rounds against Floyd, that doesn't mean Hatton can. They are very different. Your comment, "Hatton can do what Judah did for the first 4 and keep it up for the whole fight" is pretty stupid. If you can't see that, then I'm not interested in continuing with you as I am not a teacher.

Yes the corner knew what was up.
That was a good performance against a fighter who is also better than Hatton. I give Floyd credit for beating Chavez, I think Chavez did a lot of things better than Hatton. People are acting like Floyd has never fought someone like Hatton but the reverse is true. Funnily enough, if Hatton had fought Witter or Corley or even Mitchell and somehow managed to beat them, people would have a case but Floyd is clearly the percentage call.

Mate, Judah is clearly faster than Hatton... I've talked to people who've seen the fight and they are saying that Judah is even faster than Floyd.
With single punches anyway.

I scored it 115 - 112 in favour of PBF.
My scorecard...
R1 - ZJ
R2 - ZJ
R3 - PBF
R4 - ZJ
R5 - PBF
R6 - PBF
R7 - PBF
R8 - PBF
R9 - PBF
R10 - PBF (Point deduction for ZJ - low blow followed by punch to back of head.)
R11 - ZJ
R12 - ZJ
my scoring
R1 - ZJ
R2 - ZJ
R3 - PBF
R4 - ZJ (should be 10-8 because of the kd ruled a slip)
R5 - ZJ
R6 - even
R7 - PBF
R8 - PBF
R9 - PBF
R10 - PBF (no point deduction, I didn't see the referee doing this, but there should be 1 point deducted)
R11 - PBF
R12 - ZJ
Zab had significantly better timing and speed in the first 5 rounds whereas PBF's bodyshots worked well in the later rounds.
So it should be 114-113 for PBF or 115-114 for PBF with the actual referee.
Whereas i can maybe understand 116-114, the other cards are ridiculous!
However i admit i bealieve that without the brake in the 10th PBF would have tko'd Zab in 11 or 12. Zab was already done in that round and it was a tactical foul. Thease 10 minutes helped him a lot.

No bud these are FACTS. Hatton has better stamina and workrate than Judah, always has, always will. It seems when Hatton left your right hand man, this tinted your view.

Here's what I posted on another site:
Just watched it.
First 2 rds were Zab's.
3 and 4 were even.
5-11 were Pretty's
12 was Zab's (due to Mayweather clowning).
Mayweather was just too intelligent. Reminiscent of Sweet Pea and Roy Jones (in his heyday).
Hatton couldn't beat Pretty because although he has the style to do it, Mayweather is just too smart and he will have a great gameplan. Floyd is quicker and more accurate also. Mayweather would get hit, don't get it twisted, but Floyd is quicker, more accurate, and more intelligent.
Great fighter.
P.S. This was the best Zab Judah too, this wasn't the guy that fought Baldomir.

on the subject of hatton v floyd.
I wonder how ricky would have coped versus judah in those first four rounds?
Judah was looking at his best and theres a strong possibilty that he may have been dropped/hurt/stopped.
Mayweather deserves credit for beating Judah, he not only fought one of the quickest in his weight division, but also a southpaw and it only took him 4 rounds to figure him out. Other than that it was pretty much vintage floyd.
Ricky doesnt present any new problems for floyd. Sure he has fantastic stamina, but in terms of handspeed and having a tricky style for mayweather to figure out, he doesnt.
I would take mayweather by ud.

it looked as if we were going to have a repeat of bowe-golota riot but the police did a good job in cooling it off quickly before anyone else joined in.
If they do rule a DQ, Boxing will do itself no favors. Where was Floyd during the whole melee? In the corner to start, and then you don't see him anywhere in the fight. You're going to even contemplate DQing Floyd for doing what he was supposed to? Ban, fine, suspend Roger in Vegas or anywhere else, but to penalize Floyd for something he didn't even get involved in would be foolish. Boxing doesn't need another black mark.
This may be true, but the rules governing boxing are pretty specific in that the cornermen may not enter the ring during the round.
I don't think they will declare it a DQ (which the ref or ringside officials should have done immediately), but they should definetly ban floyd Sr for a while.
