Julian Jackson!!! Didn't get to fight a lot of the top guys because as I remember him saying "they are all running like chickens". KO'ed Terry Norris and a few other champs Baek, Drayton etc. KO'ed the very sturdy Herol Graham Brutally! He was TKO'ed in the McCallum fight but he had him hurt badly in the first and really that is the only time a he lost a fight in his prime! Not to mention I've never seen anyone else hurt McCallum!

Archie had some serious firepower. More KO's than anyone in history against some pretty amazing chins no less. However I don't think he had more than about 7 or 8 in a row...though he had several runs that long. and many 5 and 6 runs in a row.
However you probably have to look to even lighter fighters to find the pound for pound hardest hitter.
I watched the Shavers destruction of Norton today. Pretty impressive work on Ernies part.

why no mention of marciano and dempsey? who in gods name compares to both of them in terms of punching power at 185lb?

Hearns at welterweight... As a LH he dropped the tough Andries more times than you can count on one hand. At welter he must have really ripped.
Zarate's KO's are also very impressive
