Give him a chance he's posting as Mick Sturbs at the moment. Once he's changed ID's I'm sure he'll get his oar in.

If Kessler vs Joppy was bad this is very bad bad bad
IMO Pemberton is way better than Joppy and I wont even comment on the other ones that are in the race to face Kessler.
To be fair to Joppy although looking faded vs Hopkins and Taylor, it was against Hopkins (at the time considered in the best 3 P4P) and his successor.... Pretty good opposition to lose to.

Joppy is old and shopworn, and has no business fighting for the SM title.

And when you take into the account the other possible Kessler opponents (Eric Teymour, Mariano Carrera,Christian Sanavia and Robin Reid) then I would say that Manfredo is way better than what Kessler will face.

A lot of the top-ish super middleweights have fights planned in may, so its difficult to get other. These have fights coming up: Froch/Magee, Mundine/Green, Bute/Mock, Brähmer/Veit, Tsypko, Haussler, Mack/Berrio, Spina + Kessler, Beyer & Calzaghe.

Manfredo is basically as good as Lacy - after all he ko'ed Pemberton in 3, and Lacy in 2. And since Lacy was Calzaghe's career-defining superfight, surely it's the same with Manfredo. After this fight, Calzaghe should be the #1 on everybody's pfp list, really.

Joe wants to increase his star, so this is the fight he should go for. Good call stujones.

Calzaghe rips Manfredo a new asshole in 4 rounds.

Who was The Contender guy prancing around in the Lacy corner?

And Manfredo does? The guy just lost to Sergio Mora twice, and in no way is that guy a world title contender.

When i read this topic yesterday i thought it was a joke, a prank, a wind up. So i ignored it. I never thought for one second Calzaghe would consider sharing the ring with anyone from The Contender TV show, i mean come on, for fcuk sake.

Well, Seconds Out have now stated that Manfredo is in the running to fight Calzaghe on July 8th!!! It seems that when Calzaghe & Warren are involved, pink elephants do fly.

Calzaghe 'regained' most peoples respect with his shut out performance against Lacy. If he now goes ahead and shares a ring with Manfredo, surely he will loose it all again. His fornicating career would be hailed as a joke all over again.

Would agree with the exception of Sarnavia... Think Sarnavia would box Manfredo's head off.

You misunderstand. Manfredo KOd Pemberton in 3, almost as fast as Lacy. This is a career-defining fight for Calzaghe, just as good as the Lacy fight. After this there can be no doubt of his pfp #1. Compared to Manfredo Kessler is just a non-entity; and if you can fight so outstanding competiton at your own weight, you don't need to step up to l-h.

freiheit - for a long time now, I have noticed you try to talk Kessler down - how come if you claim to be danish?

You know very well that "way better than what Kewsler will face" is pure bullshit. You know nothing about who Kessler will face. Actually the latest rumours is that he will face Hoye - who wasn't even on that "list". Let's try to be objective here.. and not dog Kessler at any oportunity.
