There is a reason these guys are movers.....because they dont like the rough stuff.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Bollox, just because Ali/Mayweather don't have huge 1punch power doesnt meant they cant hold their own on the street, speed/accuracy is pretty important in street fights. Don't mistake boxing skills for streetfighting skills. Ali might have whupped Liston, Frazier and Foreman, but any one of those three men would have murdered him in a fight in an alleyway.
Ali went toe2toe with Foreman, Mayweather doesn't move too much he shoulder rolls. They can fight. In contrast Hattons been in 1 real fight in his life - Tyszubigynzing wrote:There is a reason these guys are movers.....because they dont like the rough stuff.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Bollox, just because Ali/Mayweather don't have huge 1punch power doesnt meant they cant hold their own on the street, speed/accuracy is pretty important in street fights. right!! it would be a LIGHT HEAVY against a welter!!jeej wrote:Plus we all know Ricky is a big lad when he isnt training for a fight.![]()
i agree...PBF is clearly trying to get inside ricky's head, the same way he did with chico corrales & arturo gatti!! i dont think he expects to intimidate hatton, but if he can make him angry enuf, he MAY be able to pull hatton away from his game plan, which is basically what he did with corrales (like what b-hop did with trinidad)...Southpaw Stylist wrote:This has gone horribly off topic.
You lot are fools if you haven't seen either of them actually streetfight. Speculating over bullshit.
At the end of the day, let's stick on topic, Mayweather is playing mind games with Hatton. Hatton being who he is isn't scared of anyone, but he would get his square head boxed off. I'd love to see it.
I saw a semi pro boxer at university smash the shit out of about 7 rugby lads. It was quite a scene. One of the lads who was sitting at the next table was drunk and he was singing some stupid rugby song and swinging his pint around. The pint was wet, and flew out of his hand, and travelled through the air before smashing into the face of a girl at the next table. The girl turned out to be the girlfriends of said semi pro fighter.KO Artist wrote:They are different things, but there is a poster on here (I wont name him openly) who had over 100 amatuer fights but only half a dozen pro fights. They really are two different things.
Derek 'Decca' Simpkin had an indifferent pro record but I reckon he can go some in a pub fight!
he was always getting into fights in pubs, but not starting them.
I saw him lay out three squaddies in a pub with a three punch combo. It was like something out of a film.
If the boxer can get his punches in early, he will usually win.
Who wants to get hit when they can win without doing so? Point is he can fight toe-toe when called upon to do so.bigynzing wrote:This is just my opinion.......Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Ali went toe2toe with Foreman, Mayweather doesn't move too much he shoulder rolls. The reason Ali went....or should i say had to go toe to toe was because he was forced into it...if the Ali that fought big George was the Ali that fought Liston...he would of danced all night i have no doubt
I dont think Ali wanted to be on those ropes with George raining on him...
I think so, he intimidated Gatti into freezing, and makes other fighters pissed or to feel inferior. Neither are conjusive to a good performance against Mr P4Pshoutout2u wrote:i agree...PBF is clearly trying to get inside ricky's head, the same way he did with chico corrales & arturo gatti!! i dont think he expects to intimidate hatton, but if he can make him angry enuf, he MAY be able to pull hatton away from his game plan, which is basically what he did with corrales (like what b-hop did with trinidad)...Southpaw Stylist wrote:This has gone horribly off topic.

Same as a semi-pro footballer I'd expect - ie a guy that gets paid to compete and trains reasonably seriously, but who does something else during the week to put food on the table.Southpaw Stylist wrote:JamesMcDonnell, what the hell is a 'semi-pro' boxer?
So acting like an immature wanker and getting told to get to fornicate is what passes for intimidation and mind games? mayweather is obviously stupider than i gave him credit for.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:I think so, he intimidated Gatti into freezing, and makes other fighters pissed or to feel inferior.
