That will come with experience, he has a huge KO record and is only 23. real messy presentation, starting at 8:15 in the middle of one fight...
i didn't even give Byrd the 1st round. I felt a handful of clean Wlad jabs to Byrd's face were better than the 3 or 4 body shots Byrd landed in that round. I don't know how Byrd or his corner ever believed he could win the fight. Byrd isn't a hard hitter, nor is he good coming forward. I mean, it's suicided to walk a man as big as Wlad down, yet that was Byrd's only option
it's like Steward said, WK hypnotised him with the jab and shocked him with the right hands. very composed performance by WK, very clinical. i know that Byrd was never going to ask him the qs that we need to keep asking. but i was impressed - when Wlad tried to finish Byrd, he threw a lot of punches and didn't seem to be spent.
I have to say i think Byrd could have been an outstanding fighter at a lower weight. I do feel that King never promoted him well, and seldom put him in with fighters that could make him look good.

The HBO presentation of the fight was good as usual. Didn't get to see Byrd's child congratulating Klitschko though.
Got to give credit to Byrd, he couldnt get near Vlad but kept trying. Brave man, someone that small ready to fight the biggest monsters of the division. Although he doesn't fight pretty he is one of the nice guys.
Good luck to him in what he does next.
How about Valuev-Klitschko ? The most robotic fight ever. Hope Klitshcko can dominate now, boxing needs a dominant heavyweight champion.

ARD had 10,17 million viewers in Germany (47,8 share) for the Klitschko fight (startet at 23.30 local time)

How much influence does King have over Valuev now?
If he has a certain amounts of options on him, what does this mean? Does that give him power over his current promotor ?

- The combined viewing figures for 4 Regina Halmich fights in 05 were 28 millions
- The average viewing figure on ARD and ZDF rose from 3mill in 04 to 3,6mill i 05.
- The combined figures for Krasniqi vs Brewster (fight, hype, news ect) made him the 3rd most watched german sportsman after Jan Ullrich and Michael Schumacher
- Brewster got a career high payday vs Krasniqi. His previously highest purse was $400K, he got $2,4mill for the Krasniqi fight.

just a quick hats off to chris byrd too, ive met the man and he is a very nice humble man. he has been a good champ and someone who was not afraid to get in the with bigger guys. his CV shows this. just a shame that byrd lacked KO power. but after all he was a super middle once. byrd also maintained his physique as he grew.....shame toney didnt. i hope that byrd calls it a day.
all in all, apart from the slight mix up and the flitting from fight to fight, i was impressed with setantas coverage for a tenner. its a decent price for a PPV. the germans certainly know how to put on a show. it was very polished indeed. and the action was non stop. we were not bored with hour after hour of repetetive studio work. and not the constant promise of....'lewis v 'x'' coming up after the break !!! (3 hours later)....
The Colonel Bob Sheridan did a good job too, always been a fan of his work on the radio. in my opinion he certainley knows his stuff and keeps the viewer/listener interested. well done setanta.
