i think he has passed his medical
and to do that with no decent Am experience you have to have a spar in front of the board, so he must have been doing quite a bit in the gym prior to this

You'll come up against someone who can hit back and who is trained to fight. I wouldn't be surprized he if quits and goes bqack to football after his first sparring session. If only I had a £1 for every guy who walked into my boxing gym fanying themselves as a bit of a fighter!
Judging by your name,I can't see us agreeing on too much!!!
But,I absolutely agree with your post there!

Boxing ran in Ronnie O'Sullivans family. Danny, Dickie and Mickey O'Sullivan were known as the Fighting O'Sulivans (Mickey was Ronnie's grandfather) - Danny was British and European champion. Boxing passed down through the family and all his dad's brothers could fight. He was interested himself, did some sparring few years back with Naz and was a supposedly the toughest kid at his school, not surprising though - if you see photos of him as a teenager he looks lke a 30 year old man.
Ronnie was also a talented footballer and a natural athlete. As is known, he is not only the most talented and natural snooker player ever (147 in five mins!), but he can also play to world class standard left handed. As for golf, well he's apparently mint at that as well LOL, he wants to be a pro some day. In interviews he often ponders over whether he should have gone for a different sport. If he had chosen boxing he may well have been quite a contender. Not everyone has that level of natural ability. Imagine being able to knock in centuries left handed

He admits to being quite obsessive about things, one of which is fitness - he runs miles and miles every day - so huge stamina.
As for Roy Keane, fighting also ran in the family, his uncle was a bare knuckle fighter from Cork.

Rubbish! Give me anyone with a professional sportpersons fitness and in a week I could make them look half decent in a ring or at least not like a complete muppet. Training and sparring is totally different to actual fights. I've known and seen many great boxers in the gym who are crap in the ring. How many fights do you see where a prospect goes in with someone who looks like they're been eating more than training? How many propects go in and KO someone inside a round and everyone watching is wondering how on earth the other guy was even allowed in the ring? Getting a license either as a boxer or trainer is easy and to that end the Board giving out haven't a clue.
Believe me the guy won't do anything and will go back to footie!

Paul Bonson was a fairly good rugby league player and switched to boxing. Now he's a quality journeyman who gives value for money in the ring.
I remember seeing Ronnie O' Sullivan out in Vegas for Danny Williams' fight with Vitali Klitschko. Good mates with Jimmy Mac, I believe.

Graham Shaw Played for Sheffield United in 60s and England was junior ABA champ, and also played cricket for Yorkshire at Junior level. He chose Football, but was always a boxing fan. Talking to people who know their Boxing, they say he'd have made a good PRO
