The announcement of the opponent has been delayed further now apparently!

Greens a top prospect, I think they decided to make this after seeing him knocked down and thought they'd be the first to take his zero. Calazage probably wins but Green has a punchers chance.

How can he phase Calzaghe's god like chin?

IMO there is very little out there for him to fight in July. Its crazy to expect him to find some God to fight! He is the champion and there are few top boxers available at the mo, so hehas take an up and coming challanger. Nothing wrong in that. Plenty of time to make some Super fights towards end of the year. Just looking forward to Joe getting back in the ring.

If I were Joes manager I would want Manfredo jr, who has a great profile in the us, what with the contender and his win over Pemberton, albeit a shot pemberton.

Joe would get good money for a low risk fight and would look sensational in front of a massive us audience.

Not an ideal matchup admitted but better than it could have been, William Joppy was a strong contender at a point. Who would want to see a young, fresh Kessler tear through the skeleton of Joppy in 4 rounds?

Well Kessler offered AGAIN last week to fight him. Kessler would scrap his own plans for a june fight and do the july 8th thing.

However Kessler does not fit Calzaghes immediate plans. (Manfredo and Green does??????). Joe was actually clear about it in an interview yesterday, saying noone outside Denmark cared about Kessler - so why should he fight him.
He may be right, but it still pisses me off.

But to say there are no meaningfull fights available is BS. At least at 168 Kessler is clearly the most meaningfull fight at all.

He's not - I want to see Kessler-Calzaghe too, and it's really the only fight I want to see Calzaghe in at this juncture.

Can you point me in the right direction for this interview with Calzaghe where he talks about Kessler? Also, can u give me the source of the offer Kessler made last week?

He's not - I want to see Kessler-Calzaghe too, and it's really the only fight I want to see Calzaghe in at this juncture.

Of course he is not - he wish he were though.. and I am guessing that he thinks if he keeps saying it enough perhaps it will be so. Which, of course it won't. Kessler won't go away.

There was a poll on Warren's own website a few weeks ago, and the english fans could vote for the one they wanted to see calzaghe meet. There were RJJ, Tarver, Beyer, Kessler and a few others as the options. Guess who the majority voted for? Kessler!

Calzaghe is not fooling anyone. The Ring ranks Kessler at no. 1, the english fans even knows that this is THE fight Calzaghe needs, and really.. all of us that knows anything about this division knows that this is THE fight calzaghe needs to make happen.

Talking of big mouthed American Super Middeweights what happened to trash talking prospect Yusef Mack? I remember an interview with him ages ago and he was planning world domination but have heard little off him since.
