I can understand how people are frustrated by the governments immigration policy, if indeed it can be called that, (it just seems to be absolute chaos) but I really think that voting for the BNP is the wrong route to go... and members of ethnic minorities who vote for them really need to think again in particular, the BNP are racists who don't care of your family have been here 30 or 40 years... if your skin is different they will always see you as an outsider and given any powers will treat you that way as well...
It should be remembered that a lot of todays immigrants still come here and work very hard... many of them work for reputable buisnesses and companies at extremely low wages, in many ways theres a lot more in the governments handling of immigration than meets the eye... basically buisnesses are being allowed to hire very cheap labour while certain people turn a blind eye and pretend they can't see anything...

In my job I am in touch with The Home Office regarding immigration matters on a daily basis.

Trust me one this one it IS TOTAL CHAOS.

UK Immigration policy = we won't deport an illegal immigrant if they're in fear of torture or murder back home, even if they've tortured or murdered a British citizen. That means, in plain English, that the interests of the criminal are considered more important than those of the innocent victim.

Of course now the shits hitting the fan and media interest is high, we can expect soundbite politics but labour has been in power for 8 years now. The current mess is of their doing.

This country is f-u-c-k-e-d. I hope Blair & Co live long enough to be judged very harshly for what they've done.

Exactly. They take great pleasure in blaming the current mess on previous governments but they've been in power now since 1997, so they've had plenty of time to sort things out.

The whole question of legal/illegal immigrants is frought with pragmatic difficulties. How does one porve they are being victimised in their home country?

I mean let's imagine appliacnt X saus they are in fear of their life because they are being persecuted by theruling party. How does this get checked out? What paperwork can prove this? Do UK officials go over to the entrant's country and examine the claim? Of course not..........

I mean effectively anyone can come to the UK from a country and claim they are being persecuted Eg for being homosexual. How are hey going to prove this? By asking the applicant to suck someone's dick? Of course not. And ANYONE in CHine (pop 1.3 Billionn) or North Korea can claim to be repressed as they are living under a dictatorship.... are we going to let them all in?

Bullshit..... work on solving the problem at source, via the United Nations or whatever channels are available - mass immigration is not practically feasible or manageable..........

To be fair, Mighty Warrior was just quoting on source and indicated he wasn't sure it was Mark's - but yes, we shouldn't refer to him as such untill it is clear.

His family (whoever it is) has my sympathy... I cannot imagine the pain they must be going through.

I didnt want to beleive this until now. Mark always lived in Tottenham, and his coach at Clapham North.

I have been freinds with Mark and his former Coach, Carly Carew for. about 15 years, and helped him with his preparation for Maurice Core on the Benn - Collins U/c in Manchester

According to the Independent the boys Mum was a part time teacher who has just been accepted on a paramedic course, and his Dad was indeed former boxer Mark Prince. In any event what a terribly tragic waste of a promising young life.I think all decent people's feelings are with the boys family at this time.

Cheap labour is absolutely imperative to make capitalism tick over, you simply cannot have a modern capatalist society without having an underclass who provide cheap labour.

Ever since the 1st and 2nd world wars, and the rise of provision of state education across the board, and latterly higher education for a large swathe of the population, (40% I think), very few native born people are prepared to do the shitty, no prospect poorly paid labour intensive jobs required to maintain our infrastructure. Look around you at who is flipping burgers, cleaning toilets, sweeping streets and all those other mindless and useless 'McJob's out there.' They are primarly former Soviet block countries, and the African countries. Why? Because these people are the only ones hungry enough to do them.

Sure, close the gates entirely, fling all the immigrants out, and watch the country turn into a cesspool of filth within a few months.

Especially since the collapse of Communism in the Eastern block and the infiltration of capitalism there has seen the living standereds of most Eastern Europeons plummet... many have to live now with western style prices while still being paid the same salaries that they got years ago... if they're paid at all...
