I apologize to anyone that thinks i was calling them right wing extremists, that was not my intention. However the reality is that in such a contentious issue as benefit payments it is normally people with right wing views that tend to lump all benefit acceptees as workshy scroungers. Only a fool would try to defend a man that was fighting for money whilst claiming disability, but i was under the impression that toneyv was trying to paint the bigger picture. Probably i was wrong. Unfortunately some of us who will have to live with our problems for the rest of our lives sometimes get over zealous in our own defence, probably due to frustration.

It may surprise you to learn, that unlike scumbags like you, not everyone is out to get what they can.

I was once forced to claim housing benefit for two months longer than intended, as I was in a bad predicament and needed to find a place to live away from the situation I was in (living with crackheads and an excon, thanks to wonderful housing agency).

I started a low paid job, which would not give me enough to save to move house, so carried on claiming for 2 months. I did so in the expectation that I would be caught, as I was working on the cards, when after two months I wasn't caught, I could have continued claiming, but decided it wasn't the right thing to do. So you are talking bollocks my son, because I happen to have a social conscience.

It simply isn't right to claim benefits just to 'top up' your lifestyle, and there's pride in working for a living no matter how menial, and if someone is working for a living and getting enough to get by, they shouldn't exploit the system.

As I said, that's the one and only time I've gained anything I didn't deserve from the system. I didn't pay it back, but that was more to do with not wanting to get done for fraud, and I've not had a day out of work since.

No mattym it was my old fella who is 90 that really knows about being poor not me fortunately. He was born in rural Scotland and when he was 16 broke his leg his parents had no choice but to send him to an aunt in Edinburgh cos he couldn't work. Hence his love for football as all he could afford was to go to Hearts one week and Hibs the next for something like sixpence entry in those days. lol

I did what I did most unwillingly, because I was about to me made homeless with nowhere to go and did not have enough money to get another flat. It was a matter of emergency, rather unlike pretending to be disabled whilst boxing for a living. Yes, what I did was wrong, but the alternative was starting a job, then finding myself with nowhere to live shortly afterwards and losing said job. As the housing service would definetly not have helped me out in this instance, I chose to make a decision based purely on survival.

Scrounging a free car off the state by pretending to be disabled, is hardly a matter of survival.

there is no getting round it, the guy is a disgrace, but maybe there is something in tonyevs case. Looking at Jones' record i would quite believe he had one leg AND a limp, so maybe he IS disabled? Anyone with the correct amount of limbs would have a better record than that!
