i've tried to get into the other contact sports from time to time and it's just never caught on with me.

i can't stand all that flaming grappling on mma. it's uglier than a john ruiz fight.

i don't mind a bit of wwe.

I had to double take then half reading this, half doing something else I thought you said "I like a bit of wee".

Any more news on Mark Potter's rumour comeback. To be honest, I'd be more interested in a Potter comeback than Reid (he'd have more of a chance against the top echolons domestically).

By the way for UFC fans Bravo have changed their schedule, UFC 61 is on Monday at 9pm not the usual Sunday night slot. Was trying to get it up on the Sky+ planner for about 15 minutes pissed out of my box last night!! ;)

Sefo was noted in K-1 for his iron chin and insane tolerance for punishment yet a B level journeyman boxer with averge power absolutley splatters him in the first.

True - I heard about then losing their TV station so changes could well be afoot.

I think Ramapge Jackson has been snubbed by the UFC (he is probably too dangerous for Dana White's liking) and have joined a smaller outfit in the US.

Maybe he can come back and fight guys like Joe Mesi and Tommy Morrison.

Did anybody see Wanderlei Silva's two fights with Quinton Jackson? Jackson got destroyed. However Jackson holds an impressive win over Chuck Liddell.

The worst beating I saw Rampage take was from 'Shogun' Rua - he got bust up in that, fight although I think he may have been fighting with an injured rib at the time.

Shame we wont be seeing him in UFC anytime soon - his slams are the best in the business - he KO'ed Richard Arona with one a while back

I remember that one!

He also broke Igor Vovchanhyn's ribs with a with devastating slam a few years ago in a fight where Vovchanchyn was expected to spark Jackson.

Dana White has already announced it. So it will definitely happen if Liddell beats Babalu.

It's just a shame Randy Couture has retired.

There was talk of him and Silva fighting in a title vs title match back in 2004 but it never came off.

That would have been a hell of a fight.

Couture was something else - to drop to 205lbs at such an advanced age and school both Ortiz and Liddell makes me think that he would have had too much for Silva but as you say, it would have been an awesome match up!

UFC have signed him for three fights. Starting after the Pride Grand Prix. November is tentative for Liddell v Silva in many ways, the semis and final of the Pride Open Weight are on the same night - September 10th so Silva has to come out of that injury free for November to happen. And likewise Liddell against Babalu in August.

Wanderlei Silva is a much improved fighter from the man who fought in the UFC against the likes of Vitor Belfort and Tito Ortiz.

However does anyone else think that Wanderlei has lost a bit of his explosiveness of recent? I watched his fight from last weekend's Pride (against Fujita) and he finished well but appeared a wee bit sluggish.

If Silva has signed to the UFC, that is fooking great news. Liddell v Silva would be fooking huge!

Yes, Hughes was as good as out himself from the choke when he dropped Newton and KO'd him.

Yeah, im just watching UFC 61 and the commentators have said that its breaking news that Wanderlei Silva will fight Chuck Liddell in November, so long as Liddel comes through his title defence in August.

Pele reid never did well in K1.. He has zero victories under K1 rules, however under other kickboxing orgs, He did manage to KO vitali Klitschko via highkick to the face.
but that was years ago.

As for Matt skelton..he was "good" under K1 rules..but not an elite kickboxer..never was.. He also tried mma , but only once. and got subbed by a wrestler..

Matt was the best K1 fighter in Britain for a time (for what that is worth..) I watched him win the K1 GB GP back in the day at the Villa Leisure Centre and he was dominating in his preformances. That got him an invite to the Tokyo Dome, but as you say against the very elite he was found wanting.

I have seen Matt's MMA match against the hulking Tom Erickson (over 300lbs) and he was a fish out of water. Taken to the ground early, he was submitted with, I think, a choke within a couple of minutes of the opening bell - its a whole different sport so you cant read much into that one.

TT, or anyone who followed Matt's K1 career.
