I thought that Hatton was a little frustrated with the situation of who he could fight in the states under Warren. I remember him commentating on Gatti vs Mayweather and it was made clear that he wouldn't be able to fight these had he stuck with Warren. Seemed like the only fighter he had available was Cotto.

Now given that he has fought no one of real note since to the Tszyu fight, perhaps just perhaps Hatton is regretting being a little hasty with his decision to leave the Sports Network banner.

If not it is quite clear the Hatton main goal is £££ and not getting an all time great legacy. Anyway, I still fail to understand how UK PPV money generates so much wages to Hatton - I think the max viewing figures has been something like a million, but that was for Mike Tyson. John Rawling has stated on DHB that Nelson vs Cantatore on ITV 4 had a better audience than Hatton vs Collazo.

With the U.S. it is different, it is more established and the PPV's have a bigger audience and is more expensive. Its also usually for smaller shows than over here in the UK (UK PPV's = Much better value for money).... like, did Clinton Woods, Jason Delisle, Luis Collazo etc get a just of the sum also.

Yes Stu, but a PPV costs 15 quid, and a percentage of that goes to the promoter. I'm not sure what proportion, but let's say it was 7.50, I think Hatton PPV's were around the 200,000 mark for his bigger fights, not including Tszyu (from what I remember), so that is 1.5 million thrown into the pot. Then there are gate receipts, which is another let's say 16,000 x 30 quid average, so that's another 500,000, then there's American PPV of course for the bigger fights, not sure how the economics of that stacks up, as to what percentage the promoter gets from that, but let's assume the figure is around the same as the first, and so another 1 million . Then there's the site fee in the states, which can be a huge sum of money, depending on the opponent, so another 1 mill for that, as a conservative figure for a big fight.

So far, that's what £4,000,0000. This is all guestimate stuff of course, but I find it hard to believe ITV could match this sum for an individual fight, advertising revenue surely isn't that big?

However, all this being the case, Hatton getting 3 million a fight at these rates wouldn't leave a lot of change after the associated costs, paying other fighters on the bill etc, and if anything went wrong along the way, easy to see where it would get sticky.
