Norris was a far better all round fighter than Vargas, who must be the most overrated fighter of the past 20 years imo...

Anyone know how Norris is today?... it was very disturbing seeing him being allowed to take his last couple of fights despite severely slurred speech... though I suppose we should expect this in boxing...

I'm not supportive that Norris was more versatile then Vargas, but I have constantly thought of Fernando Vargas as an overestimated fighter. He is a warrior no doubt about it, but not as good as most people assert.

Norris in his prime was a far better boxer and much faster than Vargas... the only thing they really have in common is fighting at 154...

Still say Norris is infinitely more skilled than flat footed slow moving right hand happy Vargas though. Ive never seen Vargas box someones ears off like Norris did Simon Brown in the rematch- awesome.
Norris didn't box anyone's ears off in that fight .

He ran for his life from the fighter who knocked him out in their previous fight.

Norris put on one of the greatest displays of boxing ability ever in his second fight with Brown. His movement, accuracy, defence, speed were all near flawless.

The only bit of credence I give to the post above, is that Norris was more than happy to win a clear cut decision and didnt go in for the ko like he was in the habit of doing at that time. I believe the ko in the first fight had something to do with that.
