Bika superstar.

This is a shocking match-up, really, even for a supposed "tune-up". Shit, I thought it might be someone like Manfredo, which would be bad enough, but at least he's a "name". Someone like Andrade or even Markussen would at least be credible. But Bika? I honestly doubt that I'll even watch this one.

This matchup is about as compelling as Calzaghe v Stephen BIKO

I'll be keeping an eye on the Calzaghe W12 price at the bookies.

I was considering attending this card but since this opponent has been announced I have changed my mind. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

This is a joke... what a total farce. This challenger has got no chance of victory, to call it a world championship contest is just a joke.
I wonder if it will turn out to be a banana-skin for Joe - he puts in a shit performance and undoes all the good that he did himself by beating Lacy in style.
This is even worse than Hatton fighting Urango !

Hatton-Urango isn't half bad.
Maybe Bika is better now than he used to be. I've yet to see him vs Beyer but will watch it. Bika was in Gary Shaw's super middle tournament, but I think he pulled out of a fight recently.
But Warren bringing in Bika is not clever. It shows how much respect he has for anyone who loves fights. It also shows the extent to which he knows he can exploit the public. Business wise it doesn't make any difference to him whether he brings in Bika, or a worthy mandatory like Markussen.
This is Wank. Better wank than Ashira & Salem, but still bad. & there's a real fight over in Denmark on the same day! Boycott Calzaghe-Bika. Demand Kessler-Beyer from Sky. Kessler-Beyer also has the excellent super middle Lucian Bute on the undercard.

Urango stole his title, he shouldn't even be a champion. That fight is garbage as well. If he couldn't beat Rabah, he can't beat Hatton.

Forget the Urango/Hatton comparisons,Hatton could retire now,and claim to have done more than Calzaghe EVER will.I mean, the guy is 6-7 years younger than Calzaghe and has already beat a HOF in Tszyu. That ain't even including the 2 weight champion status.
Hatton fighting Urango for the IBF is not too much of a concern.Hatton has a few years left in him yet, where as Joe need's to fight the biggest names he can muster, due to his age.
Joe and Frank are mugging off the average fan who will go and pay for this crap.

Putting Maccrinelli V Nelson on bill and Morris v Foster makes the undercard better

Hatton can't rest on one fight making his career. That's where you get into the funk that Joe has made his career out of.

Won't the Calzaghe card be on ITV anyway?
I reckon we should all write to Sky demanding Kessler vs. Beyer and see what comes of it!

True, and if Hatton does'nt fight at least one of Cotto,Corrales,Castillo,PBF,Witter/Corley,Maragrito,Baldomir,Judah,Moseley etc then he will deserve to get slated.
He seem's willing to fight these names, and has a few years left in which to do it,so I can't see it being too much of a problem.
Joe has spent far,far too long facing nobodies to keep wasting his time against the likes of Bika.
34 years old, says he only has 3 or so fights left in him.Bika is one......

Who knows how many fights he has left. If his hand goes again against Bika which is a possibility he could be out until next summer. Fights like this are a waste of time at this stage.

I'm pissed with the latest Calzaghe development. But I won't agree that Hatton's done more than he ever will. Calzaghe is a better fighter. Both represent 2 extremes. Hatton, let's face it, is in a big rush to charge in head first recklessly and grab as much money as he can. & he expects us all to pay, via PPV on top of our Sky subscription. Calzaghe, by contrast, was intent on a long career. He has been matched cautiously, but he has never been found out. This is no small thing -can anyone imagine Reid, Woodhall or Catley getting this far, even with the right backing & matchmaking? No way. Calzaghe has had longevity and he's beaten back some serious punchers. He has not fought top Europeans (how about Ottke and Larsen, and now Kessler and Beyer) who represented the major SKILLS in his division & that counts against him.
But he does have a good set of tools. By contrast look at Hatton. Ppl know how to figure out Hatton now. He'll be taken down soon. At least, if Calzaghe was willing, he'd be favored against top flight guys Kessler, Beyer, Woods, Johnson. That is deeply unsatisying admittedly. That infuriating reluctance. But as he showed against lacy, if he just gets on with the important fights, he is capable of great things. I don't know of Hatton is. To his credit, he has had his big surge of success, but it will all fall down soon, McGuigan style.

Hatton needs more than 1 of those guys. Manny has 3 in his last 3 fights, Ricky has 1 in 41...there's a glaring difference. Not to mention his struggles at 147 will degrade him a bit, especially occuring in the midst of his career, not at the end.

Warren stated that the fight will not take place in the early morning hours to accomodate American TV.

Well they're not... and neither will 99% Brits either... they might as well have the fight in a pub toilet for all the people that will want to watch it...
