Kaye's must be shocked at his weight gain.

Aye it's possible like, but he shouldn't be declining yet! He's got to the top the easy way with no wars except for Tyszu and Callazo.

He's been neglecting his defence with that style too. If he fought Mayweather the way he fought Tszyu, I'd give him a chance to beat Floyd.

I'd also say that Rick is fairly round faced anyway so it can sometimes look worse than it is, especially as a majority of people are used to seeing him at weigh-ins and on fight night when it's the only time he really has any definition in his face (cheekbones).

I've seen him weeks after a fight when he looks moon faced yet still has the remnants of a six-pack with his top off.

He had a poor camp for the Collazo fight in comparison to his normal build up though - especially trying to stack on the extra muscle in what amounted to just 6-7 weeks.

He can still do 140 easily and it's something of a myth that he struggles to do so since he's had Kerry Kayes on board.

Kerry Kayes is a massive part to the Hatton camp. Without Kerry, Hatton would struggle to get down to 140lbs. Before Kayes came on board, Ricky was struggling to make Light-Welter. Kayes has so much knowledge about strength/weight lifting, diet & nutrition etc. If I was a pro-boxer, I definately want Kerry in my camp!

However, Ricky's ballooning in between fights is NOT good at all. Quite the opposite. I don't care what anyone says, you cannot keep losing great amounts of weight, putting it back on, losing it again etc. THE BODY CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH!

More than anything, I think the mental aspect could take it's toll. When you know you have got to lose weight by a certain date, you are inclined to think more about the extra poundage.

I like Ricky, but damn, those forst few training sessions when he starts camp, must be hell for him. They surely must?

Kayes knows his stuff and is a great addition to the Hatton camp but to be honest its quite straightforward to learn about diet and nutrition in fact reading a few books is a good start. Of course I would never claim to know as much as anyone like Kayes but the info is around.

Looks as if Ricky Hatton won't be fighting till January of next year. He's proposed fight on Dec 9th isn't going to happen.

He should be facing Juan Urango in January for the IBF Light-welter title.
1 fight in a year is no way for Ricky to be advancing his career.

Maybe we can read more into the annoucment by Sports Network that they are discontinuing their legal action against Ricky and Ray Hatton, in SN statement they hoped that this could mean working together again in the future.

It would be unrealistic for him to fight again this year, unless he is going to fight at cruiserweight.
