Barry,
your observation, of course, is very ingenious and accurate as the right hand of Rocky Marciano, the "Suzy-Q"! Good!

Other examples of great world champions: Pascual Pérez, who lost all the money he gained, and Max Schmeling, who was millionaire

>>>I was simply mentioning what the Argentinean view of the fight was.<<<

It's funny that you did not mention one thing about how any boxing is viewed in Argentina, but as Martin states...it most certainly is not the Argentinean view...it may be a large percentage, but not all...just the same as arguments here, but it's really going out on a limb to claim that you was presenting the Argentinean view.

From what I have read about Firpo what had most to do with his riches was the very good business decisions that he made outside of boxing and certainly not what he did in the ring...though he did really well financially from the Dempsey fight, but it was his business decisions outside of boxing that made him rich for life!

Martin...Well...I consider you to be the main man when it comes to boxing in Argentina, Brazil and other countries in your area and I would certainly always take your word about pretty much anything pertaining to South American boxing, certainly over my own views of South American boxing as I have not done nearly the research that you have on South American boxing...Decagon however has little knowledge of early boxing in the U.S., much less early boxing in other countries as is noticeable in many of his classic posts of the past, though it did seem like he was actually trying to learn about the old fighters during the last couple of months instead of speaking on pure assumption and he actually made some pretty solid comments of late, but then he will pull some nonsense out that he has little knowledge about and in turn it usually pisses off people that actually do know about it.
