Universum had won the purse bid for Calzaghe-Veit, and didn't bother to let anyone know until about 2 days before Cazlaghe-Magee. Though it was over a month away, you're not allowed a voluntary defense with xx days of the mandatory.
Universum clearly wanted Calzaghe to vacate, but I'm sure that was a huge fight anyway that made everyone plenty of money when it went ahead.
