he did say though that he`s started light training and the fight is still 15 weeks away, thats a long time to get in shape.
i can see it being a real problem if he`s doing a crash training program and trying to lose that weight over 6 weeks or so but if he starts losing a couple of pounds a week from now on in he should be okay.
especially if he steps it up about 6 weeks out.
obviously its not ideal but as long as you give yourself plenty of time its not as bad as some are making out.

One thing I would say on this lads, and I speak from experience, is that some people have a particular tendency to show weight-gain on their faces and necks. I know, because I am one of them, and Ricky is obviously the same.

Some people seem to be able to put on weight and it doesn't show in their faces, yet other people only have to put on maybe a stone and their face becomes rounder and more bloated.

This is the case with me; I lost eight stones, from an all-time high of 19 stones. My weight now hovers between 11 and 12 stones, when I get up to 12 stones I know its time to be careful and the difference actually does show in my face - at 11 stones my face is leaner, at 12 stones it is rounder. Amazing, when you are only talking six kilo's of bodyfat overall.

I've noticed that some people can put on a lot of weight and none of it seems to go on the face; other people aren't so lucky, and even moderate amounts of gained weight takes it toll on the face.

Ricky obviously does blow up between fights and maybe the problem will catch up with him in the long term but he definitely does have a face that reveals moderate weight gain. Looking at him in the chair on Friday night, he did seem a bit wider around the waist but he didn't look grossly out of shape. I just think his face doesn't do him any favours, if you know what I mean.

Good point & i've been saying this for ages. It's the first place the weight shows on Rick and of course it always seems worse becuase a majority of people are used to seeing him on fight night which is the only time he really tends to have any definition in his face (cheekbones etc.).

He is kinda round faced anyway - i remember once seeing him with his top off when his face looked heavy weeks after a fight and he still had the remnants of a six-pack
