Steele made a decision based on his experience and judgment. Say JCC hits Taylor again al la Curry / McCrory, who can say we would not have had another McClellan or Watson?
Don King...Richard Steele...is that you? There was 3 seconds left in the fight!!! J.C.C. could have shot Taylor and he wouldn't have fallen in that amount of time with the distance between them. If that fight didn't scream fix, what does?
3 seconds is more than enough time for JCC to smash an unable to defend himself Taylor in the head. The falling over or counting to ten is irrelevant. Conspiracy theories are like films, mostly fiction.

I can't wait for Lacy to go on and win another title at some point, so Brits who claimed he was extremely one dimensional in 2006 can call him one of the best fighters at 168 to blow up Calzaghe's weak resume, in a very Honeyghan/Curry style. This statement is directed at one person, Brits, take no offense....I love ye.
We dont take offence. We just take the piss out of Americans that try to lecture us.

Brewster took some beatings from Lyakovich and Etienne but hung in there.
Mormeck-Braithwaite
Toney-Jirov
Michael Lerma got beat up all the time when he stepped up in class, but hung in tough. Same with Carlos Bojorquez - although he usually gets stopped by a doctor.
Of course Calzaghe-Lacy
Jones vs Telesco and Gonzalez
Scott Harrison vs Wayne McCullogh

Here is what I've always wondered about that fight. Would Taylor have continued to fight for so long after his prime if he would of just recieved those last 3 seconds of his match with Chavez.

Honorable mention to Arthur Abraham here on this topic. Regardless of the decision, it had to take some major heart to do another 7 rds after your jaw breaks.

Good call on Harrison-McCullough. I remember watching that fight and turning it off midway through the eighth round. I thought Wayne was going to get stopped for the first time in his career, and I couldn;t bear to watch. when I read the next morning that he lasted the full twelve, I watched the rest of my tape, though still didn't feel any better
Calzaghe-Lacy was tough to watch especially since I know Jeff.
Chavez-Camacho was a pretty decent whoopin', though not on the level of these two.
Chacon-Limon IV and Chacon-Boza Edwards are probably two of the most brutal fights ever -especially considering that Chacon absorbed more punishment in WINNING BOTH than most fighters do in losing.

Pounding?! The man was slapped with the laces of the glove causing the cut on his face. At least punch with the knuckle part but Calzgahe did no such thing, he fought exactly how Mitch Green fought Tyson all slapping and pitty pat crap.
Now the beating Tex Cobb took from Larry Holmes, THAT was a real beating from a great fighter or the pounding Chuvalo took from Foreman.

I forgot about Mormeck. I felt really bad for him, but he did seem to be okay during the post-fight interview.

Who's trying to lecture? It's not needed when you've been proven wrong very easily.

After Ali-Frazier I...Joe went to the hospital and there were rumors he had died.
On the cover of Sports Illustrated there was a full face shot of Frazier after the fight all swollen up and the caption was "Victor...Or Victim?"
But I think there's still a 12 or 15 round "beat down" that no one has come up with yet.
Maybe Antuafermo...he could take a good beating...and deliver one too.

Unless TKO's count in this thread too but he did beat the counts and was going back for more until Nady waved it off.
Now that is what I call a whupping. Did Williams actually even land a flush shot on Vitali in return for the dozens of left and right straight shots he eat.

Round two of Golota-Sanders also needs to be mentioned. Golota started the round in white trunks and finished in red ones, the blood was even on scorecards. I heard T-Rex has got some health problems (eyes) after this fight and I'm not surprised.

I don't care if Jeff comes back and loses to Calzaghe again...I just want to see something from him that shows improvement and willingness to win.

For the first few rounds, Lamon Brewster took quite a beating when he fought Klitschko. He was knocked down multiple times, but didn't get KO'd. I really don't know how the guy got back to his feet. I don't think he does either.

How about Jose Luis Castillo? Although he was probably going to the floor before Weeks stopped the fight, he absorbed a huge amount of punishment.

Haha, the last thing Brits should be knocking is anyone sense of humor...you need a piece of sand paper just to watch some of the shit on the BBC.

If you dont hate America and Americans, why is a backhand at America and Americans involved with nearly every response out of you?

Joppy v Hopkins (Joppy just kept getting destroyed and the fight wasnt stopped)
Lacy v Calzaghe (Lacy just gets anihilated and no one stops fight)
Duddy v Campas (i thought duddy was going to literally die in the laast round)
theres more but i cant think of them right now

Anyone slags of my people or my country, or its fighters per se, then i come right back at them. Don't expect me to apologize for that as you will be highly disappointed.
