The point I was trying to make, in answer to Max's statement that Mayweather should be critised as much as Calzaghe for his choice of opponent is that even if you just take the last five opponents, which includes Calzaghe's biggest win, Mayweather's are still far better than Calzaghe's. That's without taking into account any of Floyd's earlier opponents.

Gatti and Michell were past it, fine but so was Eubank and he was generally considered Calzaghe's best win prior to Lacy. When was the last time Mayweather fought someone like Ashira?

To be honest I'm not that impressed by JC either. However if you pushed me into a corner I'd say Bruseles is about on a par with Ashira.

Whilst all of these fighters mentioned may not be great, they were or have been top fighters at some point in their careers.
These so called boxing fans are always complaining about they don't see any great fighterts these days and here we are with a genuine superstar, of the likes that only come around every so often, and all they can do is find ways to put him down. We should all be appreciative of the type of marstery we seen on our screens last night.

They were at super featherweight - his great days were quite a while ago.

No one gives a fvck what he's done above lightweight, where he should be 1-1 vs Castillo is negative cautious fights.

Nowadays he's even more tepid.

Floyd was no more impressive vs Castillo than Johnston and Casa were.

Floyd made a three course meal out of a guy that Tszyu finished as a top level fighter - Mitchell.

Floyd was knocked down and lost 4 rounds vs a man Tszyu spanked in his prime, Judah.

If Floyd fought Margarito he would have a guy who would walk right through his punches. Push him back the whole fight and then actually be able to hurt him. Margarito would throw big thudding punches to Floyds body. He would be broke down to the body and then destroyed upstairs. This Baldomir fight actually renforced my belief that Margarito would beat him.

You must've missed the first half of the Margarito/Lujan fight where Lujan was outboxing Tony. Sure, Tony wouldn't get hurt, but he'd be swinging at air the entire fight.
