I think when a TV or cable station aligns itself with one promoter, who proceeds to flood the market with showcase fights for his stable of fighters - world champions included - things really do get stolid. ITV need to pull thier finger out, give more TV dates (incl ITV4) and ensure we get more compelling fights.

When Warren left Sky, look how many good fights we got. Just looking at this year, great fights like Earl-Romanov, Anderson-Muttley, Meager-Stewart, Moore-Macklin, Froch-Magee (apparently, I say because I missed that one), waged in British rings. Not only that, but Haye's EBU title fights and move toward a world title, the three exciting Africans - Munyai, Asiku, Olusegun - and the coronation of Junior Witter.

I'd say it's been quite a good year, and that's before we even mention Calzaghe's win over Lacy, and Enzo's great first fight with Hobson, Hatton winning another title in an edge of the seat cliffhanger (round 12, vs Collazo), Mbaye getting a title, Woods' great 3rd fight with Johnson and Alex Arthur's European dominance...

Does anyone know what this story i heard the other day is about, regarding Branson trying to start his own channels, and Murdoch not liking it?
I dont know if Branson is a boxing fan or indeed what the details of his proposition are.
