Robinson has clearly proved his credentials in a very weak division.
Edwards hadn't scored any wins of this magnitude previosuly. Looks a sound enough decision by the Board IMO.

Don't get me wrong, I want to see the British Flyweight title on the line. Just not really liking the inconsistencies with the BBBoC. Robinson has HAD good credentials no doubt, but hasn't won a meaningful fight for a while and hasn't looked impressive since the Power defeat, can he make Flyweight comfortably? Something has been lost since the Power fight, is it due to the weight?

Alan Bosworth has TWICE been refused to fight for the British title. 1) Was after he won an eliminator!!!! 2) To save a TV bill. Now he has beaten a guy the BBBoC deemed worthy to fight an eliminator (at Light Middle) and guess what, he has to have ANOTHER eliminator.

Yes, but Bosworth has some decent form to speak of, mostly losing though and there is a queue building for a shot in that weight division.

I remember Ross Hale and Mickey Driscoll boxing something like 3 or 4 eliminators to earn a short at the British title.

Then you've got the current flyweight division where there are barely any boxers that you could say are worthy to challenge for a title or have poor form.

Looking at Edwards previous form prior to beating Robinson there is nothing there to warrant a shot at the British title. Now there is. As for Robinson, he's definitely worthy of a title shot, even now.

Edwards and Robinson meet again, this time for the British title, on April 13th in Altrincham.

Sounds like it will get TV exposure too
