I was half expecting a dodgy decision, up until about rnd 10 then the betting sorted itself out.

I just could not work it out, I thought I was watching a different fight, .....all in all it worked out ok but the betting patterns were the strangest I have ever seen.

Yeah could not understand why that money was coming in for Meager on Betfair last night. I was topping up my Thaxton bet after almost every round. Kept wondering whether Sky were being too generous to Thaxton with their scorecards, but the cards at the end proved they weren't.

Another cracking British title fight. We're really getting back to the days when our better boxers battled it out for the British title and look how much it means to them. Thaxton determined to get hold of the Lonsdale belt and Meager desperate to keep it.

Couldn't take my eyes of the fight and what a performance from Thaxton.
After 14 years he's finally got his pay off.

Meager proved so durable but simply didn't ahve the tools to beat Thaxton, but I'm already looking forward to his return.

The score were wide, but correct IMO. They just didn't reflect Meager's effort, but did reflect Thaxton's dominance.

That was a fantastic performance from Thaxton, almost punch perfect. He had a gameplan and carried it out to perfection, utterly bamboozling Meager, who seemed stupified at times. Meager took a real pounding in there, and showed real grit to see it through to the end.

Let's have more fights like this, between professionals who have pride and honour in the British title, and turn up in proper fighting shape. Meager learnt a harsh lesson about his current standing that night. All his talk before the fight was of him being world class, but on the occasion, if anyone looked world class, it was Thaxton, though Meager aided and abetted that by having virtually zero defence or lateral movement.

Thaxton's pride was a real pleasure to see, a really proud champion, and I hope he can go on to retain and keep the lonsdale belt. Who knows how far his indian summer can last, maybe he can add a European title to that. He certainly looked sharp as a button, and is possibly better now than at any stage in his career with all of his experience.

Amazing fight. Thaxton looked at least a stone heavier at this weight. Huge, and great fitness. He has a very arkward style and Meager just couldnt get his shots off. Meager tough as hell though.
Thats how much the belt means. Wish I could win one. Its the best looking belt out there.
Just watched the fight two days ago, recorded. Man against boy in terms of size.
