All new?

Or just Rico Hoye was over hyped with no chin as opposed to Woods previous challenges against real champions RJJ and Johnson.

The mere fact Woods was getting yet another shot or anybodys mandatory #1 was pure corruption, Tarver v Johnson was the unification regardless of those clowns at the IBF.

Woods "reign" is pure plastic no matter how "honest" he is.
'Plastic'.... what a hypocrite you are mate! you've got a huge hardon for Fraudly Harrison just because he beat a shot Danny Williams and yet you denigrate Clinton Woods.... Woods has more heart in his farts then Harrison will ever have in his whole body, and Woods has done far more in his pro career than Fraudly will ever do.... you can't even compare the two of them, Clinton is probably the biggest hearted and hardest working fighter in Britain today who has really grafted to get where he is and Harrison is just a big overpaid fraud...

Silkov everything yoru saying is pure speculation. Danny Williams definitely wasn't "shot" in anyones opinion before the fight.

Woods has been fighting about 6 years longer than Harrison, so yes he has done more. He got a world title shot and got hammered, lost 2 more title shots, and then was gifted an IBF belt & has extended his reign cleverly.

We'll see how Audley turns out, bottom line he smashed up someone who has competed on world level so he may not be so fraudly after all, who frickin knows..?

Come on! You can't seriously compare Woods and Harrison. Audley hasn't even won a British title!

How exactly has Woods 'extended his reigh cleverly'? By stopping the unbeaten Hoye (a big favourite before the fight), and beating the tough duo of gonzalez and Johnson? Please! These three are light years ahead of Audleys opposition.

Granted, Audley looked good on saturday night, but lets wait till theres a hungry, ambitious (and in shape!!) fighter in front of him before we start praising him.

Bottom line is, Audley beat up an flabby, ill prepared Williams, and expects us to forgive him for nearly seven years of arsing around! He should have been fighting and beating the Williams of this world years ago!

I didnt bring up Audley, Silkov did. We digress.

Woods had 3 shots and proved he wasn't good enough.

So then miraculously he is gifted a FOURTH shot for doing nothing, Johnson is stripped for not fighting a man he has already beaten twice in his backyard, and while Tarver and Johnson scrap for undisputed status Woods clowns around with his meaningless IBF belt.

Hoye turned out to be glass jawed, The Johnson fight was a razor thin debatable nod over an ageing Johnson, and JL Gonzalez had been bested by Woods Boss Roy Jones years ago, and lost to Zsolt Erdei.

Woods has done fook all to be The Man, and like Calzaghe he's not interested in risky unificiation fights or stepping out of hsi back yard, just dodgy defences against carefully selected opponents. Chris Eubank ran that game for years.

I think Tarver wins by UD. I dont rate either of these guys so highly but think Antonio would win by two or three point margins.

You're talking absolute shite, how can you denigrate Woods while praising Harrison??... its totally laughable! you're either totally biased for some reason or just dont know the first thing about boxing mate! Woods is 10 times the fighter Harrison will ever be...

Woods earned his belt the hard way by fighting a trilogy with Johnson.

He deserves it, no doubt.

Let's see him step up on HBO or Showtime again, against Tomasz Adamek this time...the unification has been in talks for a while, with the IBF and WBC at stake, it would be a huge fight and could crown a new lightheavyweight king (Hopkins or no Hopkins).

cynical b astard

Woods has worked damn hard to get where he is. How many people came to anything after getting hammered by Jones? Credit Woods for turning his career around, and getting help from the people who could improve his diet and technique.

He's not pretending to be The Man. In fact, he's the least pretentious fighter in the sport. His main achievement is that he has proven himself to be world class. The reality is that there are 4 main belts and he has won one of them.

The reality is Johnson & Tarver fought for the Light-heavy championship, Tarver came out on top and subsequently lost it to Hopkins.

How 3 other 'champs' popped up is scandolous, particularly Woods who already had 3 unsuccessful shots.

Until Woods bumps off Hopkins or at least unfies with the others, he is a fake paper chump. He has shown no inclination for risky fights with the other champs, rather he chases fights with waning big names to showcase his supposed "improvement".

Dont mean to be cynical or anti-Woods (who seems like a nice geezer), just hate the mess the sanctioning bodies create.

I like Woods, he's a good fighter, he's an honest guy and he's done everything anyBODY has asked of him.

But he's no more the World-Champion that Junior Witter is.

Both enjoy the luxury of a belt because there are 4-7 available.

The Hoye, Gonzales and Johnson victories are good wins against very good opposition - except Hoye who was green and out his depth but a genuine, 100% champion make they do not.

Harsh but true.

Despite that, I hope Woods makes three or four more fights, earns a couple of million and retires healthy.

Therre are worst custodians of belts - Valuev one, Jameel McLine indeed!

Noone hates the various 'world titles' more than me but Woods has as much right to call himself a 'champ' as the other 'champs' he's been fighting world class opposition, Johnsons still a threat to anyone at 175... aside from all that it beggars belief that you can applaud Audely as the next coming in one thread just off his win over a shot Williams, yet put down Woods in another... you say Woods opposition has been 'waning' yet dont think Williams was shot???.... utter nonsense and bollox mate!... :TU:

Mate Williams for one isn't pushing 40, but try to forget Audley. All i have said is he looked good finally and im excited to see what he does next. If he flops v Skelton or Virchis fair enough, i never claimed he was "a" champ, or the next undisputed champ.

Woods leaves a bad taste in my mouth but the KEY DIFFERENCE is that in the light-heavies their is a clearly defined MAN (B-Hop), no one has taken over the heavies since the exit of Lennox.

If Audley chases Wlad and gets chinned, at least he went for #1. If he steals a belt from a Briggs or Maskave then extends his reign Valuev style over carefully selected opponents believe me i will be calling him a chump.

Clinton Woods- bump off Hopkins or start chasing risky unification fights with Adamek or Branco, otherwise stay in your backyard fighting set ups and dont claim to be anything other than a paper champ.

Age has got nothing to do with it, its milage on the clock... Dannys only 33 but he's taken some heavy beatings, the Klitchenko fight by itself was the type of beating that can finish a career... how can you call Johnson a setup??.... it beggars belief... Johnsons world class and Clintons had 3 very close fights with him, the chances of Audely doing anything like that against simular opposition at heavyweight is extremely remote.... the bottom line is that Woods has been fighting genuine world class fighters for years, has worked his way up from the domestic and Europeon titles and deserves all the success he gets, whether there are unification fights isnt just down to Clinton, I dont see the other 'champs' breaking down doors trying to fight him, Calzaghe doesnt want to know either, give the guy credit because he deserves it far more than Harrison ever will, he certainly didnt get a £1 million paycheck for his first 10 fights!... you cant praise Audely then knock Woods and still say you have logic on your side, cause it dont make sense, Woods is a real fighter, probably our most 'real' fighter today, he didnt dump the British title just because he got cut winning it like someone I could mention and he hasnt hit behind a wbu or wbo trinket fighting fighters we've never heard of or who come from lower divisions, he's been fighting real contenders and wants the big names, next to him Harrison is just a wind filled poser whose taken 6 years and 23 fights to defeat someone he once said he would be able to beat in his first year after 5 fights.... unified by 2008 my arse!... 8)

Right you can't seem to get past this bizarre Audley comparison, so lets just agree to disagree!

Relax silkov, this isn't a Tyson thread!

I'm making the comparison because you're so positive about Audley yet so negative about Woods, thats why... I'd prefer Woods to try and unify the titles too, but other than that a Tarver fight is good because Tarver is only one fight away from being 'champ'... we could compare Woods performance against Tarver with Hopkins, but also beating Tarver would highten Woods profile in America and may help him eventually get a unification fight.... I'm sure theres nothing Clinton would like more than to have a chance at unifying some of the titles...
and dont start me on Tyson!...
