I would say that Taylor was perceived to be heavy handed, if not a puncher in the purest sense.

Taylor should have broken Ouma down and broken his heart by keeping him at bay, and straightening him up with the jab/left hook to the body and then a straight right or right uppercut on the inside. Instead Taylor tried to bomb him from long range early on, but seemed totally exhausted by his effort, which is a very bad sign for his future in the division.

I don't think the fight with Ouma has done anything for Taylor's confidence, I also think that Manny's advice in the corner was absolutely useless. All the mentioned all night long was the jab, which ok, is good basic advice, but surely he could have devised a better fight plan than to throw the jab.

I read Boxing News report on Taylor-Ouma. According to that, Taylor weighed 11st 12lbs, Ouma 11st 10lbs come fight night. Going by this. Taylor does not strggle to make 160lbs.

Yes, both men are giving away too much be able to win a title at 160, but the fact that they went the distance with their respective opponents, and in Ike's case ran them pretty close, indicates that they could both continue to do well at 154. Ike could probably win a title at the weight, though he hasn't got time on his side.
