You have to marvel sometimes at just how unscientific boxing training is, of course any sort of cardio work is going to be good for Toney, as he hasn't been doing much before, but why is it that's proper conditioning coaches don't seem to be used much. There's a whole host of them in other sports, brining people to optimum fitness, and testing their fitness with scientific methods.

Look at the tremendous shape Evander Holyfield has stayed in throughout his career, and Evander was one of those at the vanguard when it came to adopting modern training methods.

I've been told, for instance, by a conditioning coach / nutritionist, that whilst roadwork is good for weight loss and general cardio base fitness, doing four mile runs really isn't the correct form of training for a fighter, who should be doing interval running with 2-4 minute bursts, rest periods and then short sprints in between.

I wouldn't think he's overqualified, put it that way. All the Taebo pish I've seen, is just celebrity pap. I dont know exactly what qualifications he has, but if he was good he would be a strength and conditioning coach over there, not a Taebo video man. Toney should have put his hand in his pocket and paid a GOOD strength and conditioning coach to whip him into shape. Still think he can win though.

They probably got banks in because he's a martial artist himself, and also because they felt he could motivate Toney, who is obviously hard to motivate normally.

Blanks has made millions from that Taebo. Way more than he would have earned as just a strength and conditioning coach.
