It's not hard to hurt Corrales. The guy wins when he has wars, but gets outboxed otherwise.
Oh, and how do you know that?
Not many ppl could have walked through the leather that Corrales was hurling that night, and have anything left to land big single shots. St Clair is tiny next to Chico - don't take things for granted.
If Gairy had Warren as a promoter he would've been a title holder for a few years.

Ok, yes I see your point nationality has nothing to do with it but Asiku only commonwealth level!? come on! Just because he 's only won com title (so far) doesnt mean he's not world level & because Cook won Brit, Euro & Com titles doesnt make him more world level fighter than what Asiku is, I mean you could even argue strength of opposition who Cook won titles of, Euro for example againts Cyril Thomas, no disrespect but he was not the strongest or best euro feather champs there have been, granted he was champ & can only box & beat who is but look at Asiku's record,he has mixed itwith by far the better opponents Cook has. Other than the ones with guts in the UK who have boxed him (& lets get it right Callaghan came up in weight to take him on when nobody else wanted to) look at who Asiku has boxed world wide, top fighters even when early in his career. You telling me that Cook is more worthy of being a higher level than Asiku?! Dont be brain washed by unbeaten records, its who you fight remember & I believe Cook would not be unbeaten if he ever boxed Asiku. im not saying Cook is not good, in fact I think he's very good, thats why Asiku v Cook makes for a great fight & they should fight but I feel Asiku is that bit better & tougher so believe he'd win

Asiku is surrounded by top flight Brits and none will fight him. If Cook, Pickering, Dunne, or Hunter take him on I'll shit myself. There are Aussies that can challenge for his belt and they don't want to either.
I agree, Cook wasn't a great Euro champion. He looked messy as hell on one of his last fights Voronin?) and only lived up to his rep (classy boxer, brutal body puncher, Michael Brodie the 2nd) vs Dazzo Williams in all truth.

Could Cook even beat Rudy Lopez, Takashi Koshimoto, Robert Guerrero, Orlando Salido, Valdemeir Perrerea? Never mind Injin Chi, or the official #1 Chris John.

Who knows but it is now time he got his shot, lets see him try. I don't think Cook should fight Asiku, where Nicky is right now it's a step back but also a risky step back. He doesn't need it.
Cook has went the traditional title route and has 3 european title defences behind him, and would be in alot better situation title wise if Scott Harrison had not messed him about. Cook losing his WBC rating over it was robbery. Cook should have his crack at a title now.
Looking at the Commonwealth rankings Asiku versus Thomas Mashabe would be a good match up.

Good call on Mashaba.
Good fighter is Mashaba. I think Bungu fought Mashaba in his last ever fight. It was an all action epic, & IMO Bungu - the former excellent 122-lb champ - was unlucky to lose. But Mashaba is tough and fit, and he gave an inspired Bungu an awesome battle a couple of years ago.

Asiku has not beaten any world class fighters to say he's world class.
Don't assume I'm brainwashed by unbeaten records, Asiku won the commonwealth title when Cook vacated so he could step up to world level.
He's been more inactive than Cook only one round last year, Cook would win on points.
Cook got messed about by Harrison waiting for a shot at the WBO title, Cook deserves to step up to world level.

Whos going to duck a guy whos only had one round last year?

Corrales wasn't a natural Super Feather, he hits hard for small weights but lets see him hit hard when he fights someone his own size.
Is Corrales overrated because of his first fight with Castillo and his wars?
If Harrison fought Corrales, he better watch his chin.

Max, im not saying Cook does not deserve to step up to world level, in fact he does as he has accomplished a lot in winning the british & winning the Euro, Comm & defending them. You point out that in a year Asiku has only had one round of action (well he must be fresh then dont you think) and you point out that Cook vacated the Commonwealth, well do you think that there is a slight possibilty that Asiku has only had one fight in a year because nobody actually wants to fight him?! & also your right Cook does not need a fight with Asiku because Asiku could very prob beat him and why do you think the Commonwealth was the first title he vacated? because he was orderd to defend againts Asiku & I guess he didnt fancy it. Also you say Asiku is 'only Commonwealth champ' well thats not true, he's All African champ, Pan-Asian champ & Australian champ so if Cook is world class id say Asiku is is every much of world class. You say Asiku hasnt beat any world class opponents, well what world class fighters has Cook beat? Asiku has boxed better calibure of opponents than Cook and Asiku's loss to world class Hussain was debatable and Asiku did drop and hurt him when he was a near novice and he also boxed world class St Clair losing close on points. Its my opinion that Cook is tough and talented but not enough to beat Asiku, I believe Asiku would win.

Luevano-Ramirez for the vacant WBO title on a Top Rank show and Larios to fight for the vacant WBC title against TBA on a Golden Boy show are my guesses and Warren gets Cook nowhere near a title shot.
