Do you think that accepting your first fight back in nearly a year after suffering a bad knockout - accepting to fight an up and coming undefeated prospect in his own backyard - plus give away weight is the best thing to do?

Sorry, but a journeyman I am not, and that kind of fight I am not looking for as my first back in. Maybe after the first one then yes, but a rust-remover I am looking for first. I have not seen the guy fight, but I know from experience that travelling to another person's backyard to fight does you no favours - especially when your opponent has strong support.

I don't know who you are boxingchat, but if you think that a fight like that is the best route to take given my circumstances, then you don't know a lot about boxing.

Pleasing to see that Maloney managed Craig Watson has taken the fight with John Feweks. That shows bravery and confidence for one so inexperienced.

Watson was chasing a rematch with Khan in the pros but a loss to the ginger firebrand will give Amir the excuse he needs to side step it.

Would be nice to see the winner of this match get a stab at wonder boy

Confidence and bravery, or over-confidence and inexperience? It may be the former, but I tend to agree with the latter.

What people seem to forget is that I have seen just 3 rounds of competitive action since November 2004, through no fault of my own. I think it's time to get some rounds in, keep busy and then take it from there. Yet a lot of the paying public just expect you as a fighter to take whatever fight you are offered, despite inactivity. That's not the case in boxing - doing that has lead to so many fighter's downfall, and most end up as journeymen just in it for the money - I don't fall into that category.

I've been offered a 4-fight deal with Frank Maloney ending in a title fight, of which I am considering (but am not 100% certain of yet due to the way our previous partnership of 2005 went - of which I did not fight at all due to fights not materialising, getting cancelled etc, resulting in the worst year in my career to date). I am considering the deal.

All I want is to be kept busy. I realise that time is not on my side, yet jumping in too early never works, which is why I want some rounds under my belt first and then look for a title later this year or early next year. I still have my fitness, sharpness, desire and I am always training and living the life. I also have my experience - so maybe my best is yet to come.
