Belts don't matter, it is the quality of the fight that is important.

I cant say that I'm surprised, but give Rabah credit, he ran rings around Urango in their fight and was robbed that night, he had a far easier time with Urango than Ricky did and on present form I'd give him a good chance of beating Hatton... though whether he'd get the decision is another question. Have to wonder though why Hatton would rather fight Rabah than Witter, is Rabah the bigger name/crowd puller?.... nope!. Lets face it though even the Castillo fight is hardly the 'super fight' that its been hyped as.... if Castillo hadnt looked so bad recently and had so many weight problems do we think Ricky would be even interested in fighting him?.... I think not. Hatton is fast becoming a joke, he cant blame Warren now for not making the 'big fights'.

It says allot about Hattons claim that 'I don't need Witters WBC I have bigger fights' comments.

I'm talking about Sky's refusal to show any title fights other than Brit, Comm and Euro and the main four.

The IBO ain't the main four and If thats shown on It's own, then they throw their principles out of the window.

In the paper today Hatton is giving up the IBF belt and will fight Castillo in June.

What about the Ring belt and linear title?

I don't care much for a Magazine trinket, they give their belts to who HBO wants them to like with Vitali.

Not really a sanctioned Belt to go with the IBO or an official belt so sky would still throw there principles out of the window.

Ricky is the undisputed champion, he doesn't need one of those filthy, corrupt governing bodies' belts to be on the line to make a fight with Castillo for the World title.

So why are there vacant RING titles? if it was mandated by HBO or whoever, there would always be a champ at every weight for publicity reasons.

At least the RING only calls it a title fight when it is no1 vs number 2, or champ vs no1.

I agree with most of the Rings champs, its only Vitali that I disagreed with. How can you be crowned Heavyweight champ on the back of losingto Lewis, and beating Corrie Sanders!

Lets hold judgement until his opponent is actually announced.

It would be rather funny however if somehow Witter managed to squeeze the June "keep busy" date of Castillo and actually defeat him. Bah, I know its all silly talk but I wonder what Hattons move after that would be.

HBO surely won't approve of this?

And they surely won't want to renew with 2 poor performances?

The last fight was what Americans call an infomercial, to hype the NEXT fight.
infomercial...CLASSIC!! :TU:

He is taking his fans for a ride.

Supposedly HBO wouldn't approve Ben Rabah last year, why would they now?

Hatton is just after easy money it seems.

DISGRACE.
so much wasted potential...

They can sell it as being for the Ring championship. Or the Lineal championship.

I've said this before. Us Brits pay for every Hatton fight on PPV. They should show some respect and give the fights we want.

Take it to the bloody Hatton wesbites. Complain, kick up a stink, demand why he's still ducking Witter.

After their last two fights, who's to say it will be a decent, watchable fight? Hatton has lost his way, and Witters always been a bore to watch

Witter's an acquired taste, but I think he's good.

Hatton - Castillo a done deal with HBO. HBO pay the money, so this is all bullshit

The word is over at the Hatton website is that Hatton v Castillo is still on and Ricky will vacate the IBF. :box:

Just another move which shows that the belts are becoming less and less relevant to elite level marquee fighters.

The IBF are the ones who stand to lose a big sanctioning fee from a multi million pound fight, what is it 3% of the purse for each fighter or is it 5% I forget now? Muppets.

Hatton and Castillo both save themselves a substantial whack out of their wage packet to boot.
