I think Kastidis was more hurt after that one punch than Earl was ever... just Earl was too dazed himself to really do the job. Kastidis legs was stiff untill the start of the 3rd.

No real complaints if you scored the 5th to Kastidis - just thought Earl's boxing at the start of the round was enough. Just how did McKenzie thought Earl won the 3rd was beyond me, really was.
Yeah I had to laugh at Dukes scoring the 10-8 round for the point deduction. 9-9 round for me with the deduction.

Katsidis' legs were gone after the Earl KD and was ready to be taken out if Earl had any significant power and energy left.

Earl was actually getting the better of most of that last round. I thought he was in with a shot at winning, because Katidis was used to getting the early blowouts and perhaps not used to a drag out war.

Obviously though Earl was taking flush shots every round and Eames was upset about that. Earl may have been out of it, but when he's punching back and even hurting the other guy you'd think it'd go on.

He was in a fight like this a few years ago, though I forget the opponent's name.

Still, both men did themselves proud. Great effort from both that took away the bad aftertaste of Warren's diabolical plot to basically get Khan a world title.

Earl is better than being just used as a pawn.

Well, us "geeks" could laugh, but the line the ITV guys say is that they have to explain things to the level of the general public (or lay fans)... well that scoring didn't explain anything. Just get a kicking and Duke will give you the round.

I was quite funny though cause Rawling said quite casually "well, cause of the point deduction and the 10 point must system you have to score it for Earl 10-9"... as if to say "even though it was a clear Kastisdis round". ... and then Duke says "well, I actually scored it 10-8".

It seemed to silence Rawling for a couple of seconds.

Okay, Khan vs Medjadi, Medjadi stopped by Kevin Mitchell in 6, he is a gym mate of Drilzane. Khan is up to meet the queen apparently, is that for the WBU? lol

oh get on with it, takes forever to get going, dont it?

Medjadi is 17-3-0 (3KO's), so another great banger (holds french super feather belt, this is at 135)

eight threes if it goes that far

Round One:

touch gloves, medj lands first clean shot to khans head but cagey from both, lunging in from both, khan puts medj down with big right, ref calls fight off, not one minute left

punch was nice counter right to the side of his face, looping right hand, went down like a sack of shite

I was concerned about Earl even in the interview before the fight. He looked to me like he would rather have been somewhere else on this particular night, and I don't think this had all that much to do with the opponent.

Brave, brave performance though. Couldn't have asked any more.

i still think that it was a mater of time before earl went down again, i dont know about katsidis' stamina, maybe u r right there, but i saw it as similar to munyai-powers, IN THAT it would be dangerous to leave earl in on the assumption that he might win and he did not look hurt at the time

Lovely crisp right hand from Khan. He would probably have KO'd Earl with that shot.

Let's see Khan in with Thaxton. If he can win that he'll get all the respect in the world from me.

thaxton Earl or mitchell would be good, hopefully thaxton, but I think Earl has been found out there tbh so maybe throw him in with Khan to see how far on Khan is

Earl's probably more likely. But Mitchell? I know Khan has his critics (I'm one of them) but Khan would hammer Mitchell. Kevin has been even more babied than Amir.

Mitchell-Murray, now there's a fight I'd like to see.

No need to be putting Kahn in with Earl or anyone near that class yet, that was only his 11th fight. Jeff Lacy, who was rushed along to a world title in his 17th pro fight, only fought this guy in his 11th http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=014669

What Kahn needs is to be in with genui9ne lightweights with a decent amount of experience, rather than light punching superfeathers. Earl or thaxton can wait for a while yet.

Audley Harrison vs Michael Sprott
For the EBU-EU Heavyweight Title (and vacant English Heavyweight title?)

Sprott looks to be carrying a little weight, (16 stone 8lbs apparently) thats how it looks to me, he does not want to give too much weight to audley, he is about 5 ins shorter anyway. Audley looks nuetral, Sprott is bouncing, face calm. no one wants to shake hands,

Round One: harrison closes sprott down, jab as rangefinder, sprott in close, roughhouse, warned by ref on break. AUDLEY EMPLOYS UPPERCUT INside, quite slow startm, nothing substantial at 1.30 gone, good right to body from audlety one min left, and again, then left sends sprott down, one to body one to neck. Audley still cagey tho does not jump on him, now onto the ropes sprott but sprott comes righty back, 10-8 Audley

Round 2: sprott first to jab, no real authority from weither jab at this stage, Sprott nneds to get in to work, harrison ties him up, bit more snap to audley jab now 1.30 mark

good right hook to body from audley, sprott good to head, another right to body from audley, no big combos, but now sprott with left right combo, good jab from sprott (sprott orthodox) 10-9 sprott

Also some nice sinking body shots from Audley, too many HW's neglect the body these days.

But he's using it to control the fight. No pop, but effective at keeping Sprott in range for some nice left hands.
