Tommy has come in at his lightest weight since 1990. Albeit by a couple of pounds.

Oh dear, Tommy looks dreadful, his skin tone is awful, he looks really bad. That physique is ridiculous, look how far out his abs are, he has the 'bowl' shaped stomach you get from doing crunches with weights and he looks far too muscle bound to be effective.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the HIV scenario, he is still 18 years older than the fighter who got his arse handed to him on a plate by Ray Mercer.

Heavies have got even bigger in the meantime.

I would be concerned for his health HIV or not.

I see a few warm ups against stiffs, a sound beating at the hands of a top 5 and another retirement in his future

Hopefully, neither he NOR anyone else will suffer long term harm

Yeah, I agree. He must have any legs judging from the pic and his weights. His top half looks much bigger than his prime yet he weighs less.

Hard to believe he is only 5lbs heavier than his opponent (assuming thats him in the picture). He is as tall and twice as wide. He must have not done any work on his legs.

Rocky didn't teach him too good.

Palacios did indeed die a few years ago. In his book, Looking for a Fight, Dave Matthews refers to a story Howard Rainey told him of a former Colin McMillan opponent who tested positive after a fight and was so devastated he went on a massive crime spree and got sent down for attempting to smuggle heroin into the US. Years later, whilst in jail he found out that there had been a mix-up with the resuls and he had actually tested negative. I thought it might have been Palacios as I think he was arrested trying to smuggle drugs. It must have been someone else.

I read that book, didn't remember that bit! That's a bloody hard luck story alright, going mental cos you've got HIV, then finding out in jail it was a load of bollocks whilst doing a 20 stretch, and then probably ending up with HIV after being shunted by 'Big Dirk' the west-coast gangbanger.

There were doubts about Tommy's HIV two years ago. Although he did say its probably the argument that PN stated.... Doctors still say he was HIV positive despite the tests coming back as negative... due to his general health being fine and him taking the medication. He did say (and this was back in 2004) that he'd been passing tests for several years.

He did believe the Doctors at that time, but I think the doubts might have raised from there and continue to raise.... He wasn't pressing for a comeback and seemed very calm talking about it.

Very interesting... this debate is starting to hurt my brain.

Apparently Tommy won in the second round with a KO - but looked very poor hurt and CUT in the first and was gassing at the time of the stoppage. All in all, the prognosis of him as a fighter doesn't look good.

Perhaps more interestingly was that there was a guy with him at ringside telling him what questions to answer and what questions to avoid. The one which asked "where did you take the HIV test" was avoided.

Some remarkably scary stats on that video though in defence of Tommy.

Drugs or not. Imagine the shape a Sanders ,Holmes would come in at.
At least(illegally or not) he's had to work hard to get his body looking like an athlete.

A lot of heavies are a fat disgrace and they haven't even retired to comeback yet..
