When you fight and beat the VERY BEST FIGHTERS OF YOUR ERA, to me, and I do not care if I hate that fighter, that fighter got to be in the top 50 fighters of all time. Basilio did that and better than most. What a fighter he was. Constant pressure, not giving a inch to his oppponent and hang it all out to the end in battles of attrition.

Just look at the quality of boxers he faced and beat:

Kid Gavilan
Billy Graham
Ike Williams
Gil Turner :TU:
Art Aragon
Tony DeMarco
Sugar Ray Robinson
Gene Fullmer
Johnny Saxton

Roy Jones would love to have this type of competition in his resume...Basilio fought those guys and had most wins than losses. In a decade where you had to fight with all that grit, only one champion for every division, a whole load of excellent contenders, 15 round wars, 2 world titles in 2 different classe and world champion 3 times???

Forget it, this man was unbeliavable!!! A top 50 in my view.
:TU: :TU: :TU:

And I will say this: Roy Jones, Jr cannot carry Basilio's jockstrap. 8) 8) :D :D
