Abraham V Miranda - Let's Get It Straight!!
I'm fed up of Taylor. If he was so good he'd have done better vs a 40 yo Hopkins. Granted it's hard to look good when your opponent refuses to engage for te first 8 rounds but I was disappointed with the way he followed him around.
Taylor-Hopkins makes anyone sane take refuge in Toney-McCallum 1 (or even 2). In that fight there was an old man struggling with the weight, who could still THROW PUNCHES.
...And then against Wrightm, Taylor keeps on backing straight up. The Ouma fight was bloody boring.
Taylor needs to fight someone who can really bang. To keep him on edge & make him alert. I'm sick of waiting for the "dominant performance."
I think Pavlik shows more promise. Hope I'm wrong.

Allan had the left hook there for him but negated it by backing away constantly. When he did land it Miranda went down pretty solidly.
Miranda is decent but he marks-up far too easily. Taylor could fight off the back-foot and bust him up over the course of a fight.
Anyone think Miranda looks like Rocket from 'City of God'!
I think that fact that Miranda won on points is a good sign, he's maybe learning his power isn't everything, and obviously can box a little too.
Taylor was backing up with poo in his pants against a blown up light middleweight, and Miranda was fighting a big strong guy who had fought in super middlweight.
I think at MW, Taylor is an accident waiting to happen, might not be Miranda who causes that accident, but I'd give him a good shout of forcing a pace Jermaine cannot handle.

Oh right, well, seeing as BT haven't managed to sort my phone line nearly two months after moving in, and I thus still haven't got broadband or even dial up capability, I wouldn't have been able to watch it that way either.
BT suck big fat cocks, they are such a bunch of useless wankers.
In fact, just to get it off my chest, I am going to treat you all to a viewing of the irate letter I've just sent them, totally off topic, but please dear boxrec friends, read on..

To whom this may concern.
I write to express my displeasure, nay, disgust, at the appalling level of both your provision of service, and the woefully inept nature of your call centre staff, indeed your entire customer service and provisioning set up.
I moved house on the 12th January 2007, and phoned BT around that time to arrange provisioning of a telephone line, nothing more than that, the simple connection of a phone line.
I was informed at the time, that the earliest I could get the line connected would be the 23rd February, when the line would be switched on at the exchange, but that it may not be possible and that if the line did not work, to call again and arrange an engineer visit. I asked why they could not just send an engineer out instead, rather than have to phone again and arrange it. This seemed perfectly reasonable to me, but of course this was not the way things are done.
So on the morning of the 23rd I awake to my surprise to find no dial tone and no phone service. I telephone when I get to work, and I am told that in fact that the service was arranged to be provisioned at 8.00 pm, despite being told on the phone and in writing it should work on the morning of the 23rd of February. After another 20-30 minutes of sitting running up my mobile phone bill, I am told to check again this evening.
When I return home, I find of course, that the phone isn’t working yet.
I get home and phone again, after another 27 minutes on hold, and yet more call charges, but I am told that as I don’t have my account number, that they will not discuss the account with me, despite me confirming my name and address. I put the phone down extremely irate.
I phone again from work in the morning, and tell them that there is no dial tone, another call centre idiot repeatedly asks me what the problem is and what is wrong with the phone, I explain over and over again that there is no dial tone, and that I need an engineer, I am told I am through to the wrong department, and I am transferred and spend another 20 minutes on hold in the whirling vortex that is BT’s dismally inept, crap-o-tron automatic customer services system, which is staffed by robotic pre-recorded voices, and lobotomized sleepwalking human operatives.
Finally, I am put through to someone who tells me they can arrange a visit to get my service up and running. I am given the date of 31st of March. This is now almost 6 weeks from the date I moved in!
I take half a day off work, which turns into almost a whole day, as the engineer who I am told will arrive between 8.00 am and 12.30 am, in fact gets there at 12.30. He tests the line, and tells me that customer services have made a mistake, and that the line is not connected at all from the junction box outside, and that they have called out the wrong type of engineer. He says he will have to go to the junction box, and he will try and rectify it, but he is not sure if he will be able to do it.
After an hour he returns, only to tell me he is not qualified to fix it, and he will now have to call another engineer out. He tells me that it should be up and running within 3 days, and that I will not have to be there for it to be up and running.
I wait all weekend for the phone to magically spring to life, but by Sunday it is clear that nothing has been done. I telephone from work on Monday morning, and after being cut off twice, and sent around the magical mystery tour of customer services once more, where I express my extreme displeasure at the glacial speed at which my order is progressing and the geological clock which BT uses to schedule it’s provisioning of facilities, I get a call on my mobile from BT.
I speak to the woman, who tells me they are trying to arrange access for me, but that in fact the engineer WILL need to enter my property, when I ask why, when I was told the problem was not with my phone equipment or the line at my end, she has no answer. I explain I cannot afford to lose another half day of pay, so I am offered a date of the 10th March, almost a full 8 weeks since moving in! Two whole months without a telephone line, internet access, or cable services, because of the farcical length of time it takes to get an engineer to organise a fixed line.
I have lost track of the amount of time, money not to mention the considerable trauma I have experienced, in dealing with the level of blank stupidity exhibited by your call centre staff, and the mind-boggling circuitousness of your ‘customer service’ system.
As a result of the inexorably long time it has taken for me to get BT to provision me with a line, I have run up a fortune in charges from my mobile phone supplier, as I have had to sit on hold for hours to your call centres, which obviously do not employ enough staff to cope with the volume of calls, nor vet their staff sufficiently to ensure they have not prior to employment been lobotomised.
As a freelance journalist, I use the internet on a regular basis for research purposes, or at least, used to before moving house.
As a result of the frankly risible lead time to get a phone line installed, I have of course, been unable to get broadband access either, and have had to, as a result had to use my mobile phone as a modem, running up £90 in charges over the last few weeks.
Needless to say, given the laughable nature of the provision of my phone line, I would rather hammer nails into my forehead run the risk of getting BT to provide my broadband, as I may find that I am blind, deaf, wheelchair bound and incontinent before I actually gain internet access.
All in all I am extremely frustrated with the useless nature of your call centre staff, and obvious disdain with which you treat your customers. It is incumbent on BT to hire call centre staff in sufficient quantity, and of sufficient quality to provide customers with satisfaction. Given that BT has a total monopoly on the provision of telephone lines, they obviously couldn’t give a fiddler’s fart about any of this.
I however, insist that I be reimbursed for the considerable time, effort, and money I have lost in wages, mobile phone bills, and innumerable phone calls to BT, and would like to know what is going to be done about the deep level of dissatisfaction I feel at pathetic ‘service’ offered by your organisation.
Yours Irately.

i had problems with BT a few months back.
i decided to get on broadband after finally getting round to buying a new computer.
my broadband was activated on the 5th october and i weren't getting fornicate all.
i was forever onto there customer services over the next few weeks. all that was required was an engineer to come up and sort the line.
instead of that they kept carrying out there shitty diagnostic tests and that ended up taking 3 weeks.
finally got it sorted when they finally got round to sending out an engineer.

Re: Abraham V Miranda - Let's Get It Straight!!
You're totally right; but team Miranda has found a way to build hype from a lost fight, thanks to the fact that viewers in the US couldn't see how Abraham schooled Edison "Pussycat" Miranda.steve689 wrote:Sorry to waste everyones time but i am starting to get a bit sick of all this mythology that has built up around Edison Miranda regarding the Abraham fight..."the uncrowned IBF Middleweight champion", "robbed out of the fight"...the latest today i read was "the peoples Middleweight champion".
What is with all this? Okay so the refereeing was dodgy and Germany is generally synonymous with bad scoring etc but for flip sake Abraham won the fight! He outboxed his man EVEN AFTER THE JAW WAS BROKEN.
This fight seems to have entered internet folklore or something with guys like Dan Rafael running round shouting robbery and people who probably haven't even seen the fight jumping on the bandwagon.
Am i totally wrong here? People who have seen the fight i welcome your opinions wholeheartedly, am i seeing a completely different fight to everyone else or what?

For those who have a fully functioning broadband connection (and on that front I would recommend Telewest/Virgin as a stable, decent, if expensive service)
here is the Miranda v Geen fight in several parts on good old youtube for those who cant be ar5ed to download it:

If two months has you reeling off letters like that, don't ever move to Spain James.
I moved into my new house at the start of July, and immediately called into my local branch of Telephonica to set up both the installation of a phone line, and a wireless broadband connection. It took over two hours to get through all the paperwork and I was assured that it would be processed in roughly two weeks, and once that was done an engineer would call to fit both the line and broadband.
I gave them three weeks, and then called to find out what was going on. I was told that one of my neighbours had refused Telephonica's request to link my line to his (phone lines around here have to go from house to house and not across the street). I spoke to the neighbour concerned and he told me that he'd never even spoken to Telephonica, and he wouldn't have refused anyway.
I rang them back the next day, and spoke to someone else who told me that there wasn't a spare line to be had, and I had to wait until someone decided that they didn't want a line anymore, or demand was sufficiently high enough for an engineer to fit a new junction box. Smelt like bullshit to me, so I mentioned to them that two people I know within the village had died recently, and they sure as hell didn't need their lines anymore. We'll get back to you next week they then told me.
Two weeks later, and after much wasted cash on the mobile, I was finally told that an engineer would ring me to find out when he could come and fit the line. I gave him a week and then had to ring the company again to find out where the mug was. They told me that they had no idea who I was, and that my paperwork must have been lost. Worse still, they told me that I would have to submit another application, and wait another two weeks for it to be processed.
I do as I'm told and fill out another application. I ring them in three weeks to find out what's going on, and they tell me again that an engineer will be along shortly. This time he does ring, organises a time when he's free to turn up, and actually follows through on his word. Problem is, he turns up and finds that he needs some parts that have to be delivered from Madrid.
After another couple of weeks of waiting and pointless calls I'm told that the part was never ordered, but it will be now. The engineer finally turns up and fits a phone line without any problems in the start of November. As he packs up I ask him why he's not fitting the internet. He rings up the office and finds out that that portion of the application was lost again, and I needed fill out another form. Sod that.
I rang up another firm that someone had recommended, and they came to check if a connection was viable the following day. They left a form for me, and showed up two days later to fit a broadband connection.
Telephonica - From July to mid-November to fit a phone line.
Iberbanda - Four days to fit a wireless broadband connection, with a phone line thrown in, once I told them how crap the Spanish equivalent of BT was.
