Well I used to live in Brussels, and while Duval is a world away from special brew in quality, it's well known in Belgium as the breakfast drink of champions

And no it wasn't Emmen.

the chuck gardner farce was probably the worst...but in all honesty what with the advent of aging boxers in the nineties u tend to get chuck gardners every other week in the heavies........ check out the duivan snr ..hes actually a boxer !

Just had a proper look at Gardner's record.

Did you know, two fights before Bruno, he'd beaten MIKE TYSON?

he he ............... :P ..... that would make anyones hair and teeth fall out

John Emmen was a disappointent, but then again when Bruno let the other guy feel his power it could easily dampen the spirit. More often than not Frank got on with job from the 1st bell.

I'm sure I even recall hearing respected fight figure Denni Mancini tipping Emmen to pull off a surprise win.

Bruno's power was definitely a sickener. Even McCall went into his shell for 9 or 10 rounds after feeling Bruno's early work. He was durable enough to see out the rounds, but it was the same principle as those who Bruno bombed out quickly. McCall didn't fancy taking that kind of power again until he realised his title was slipping away. That right hand Bruno hit McCall with in round one would have spelled goodnight for 90% of heavyweights.

yeah, some say McCall wasn't there that night, but I agree with you, receiving a pile driving right hander to start affairs can really put you off.
