Hatton only drew more than 12k twice, Eamonn Magee and against Tszyu or was Tyson on HIS undercard?

Warren "Despite Ray's unwillingness to take the fights Ricky claimed he wanted, I kept trying."

Yep, that sounds like Frank alright: always pushing for those dangerous fights!

This will be proven in the nail biting, hard to pick Calzaghe-Manfredo and Maca-Gunn fights.

Seriously though, they are dangerous fights. The challengers could get seriously hurt.

Tell me who he's fought then??.... I'm not saying he's got no talent, thats the thing that rankles... but he's wasted his career fighting hasbeens and nobodies while talking about wanting to be a legend... after he beat Tszyu and split from Warren I thought he was actually going to go after the big names now but instaed we've been treated to sluggish performaces against the likes of Maussa, Collazo and Urango... dont you even think it a little odd that he so barefacedly avoids his biggest domestic rival Witter... if he had a real fighters pride he'd want to fight witter for free just to shut him up!...
I'm afraid its blind followers like you paying out on ppv for Hattons fights against the likes of Urango etc who should be laughed at... you havent a clue...

hatton never wanted that summer fight and they got in a pants opponent for it to add insult to injury.

it's all old news anyway. hatton still has it all to play for and warren is out of it.

Sharmba Mitchell? Hatton not only didn't want him but he got beat by Tszyu. This was a done fight before both boxed Tszyu. Mitchelll lost to Tszyu, as interim champion, simple as that.

Hatton turned down Mayweather and Cotto more than once. Why doesn't someone ask Bob Arum to confirm it, surely he has the letters on file.

Hatton wanted no part of Witter either, never did and never will.

You're all buying into this 'Peoples champion' BS when the truth is to coin a phrase from his own father "Why worry about who he fights. Those morons would fill thre MEN to watch him fight Mickey Mouse" And that ones on tape I hear!

Shows how much he thinks of you lot and your hard earned!
so he wanted vilches instead.

i don't care that he turned down mayweather when he did. in 2004 the tszyu fight was more important. same with cotto back in 2004. i personally don't believe those talks ever got serious anyway.

why wasn't someone like leija or ward delivered for hatton. simple case of paying these guys to come over and do the job. warren served up some pointless opposition over those years.

hence the reason he was eventually given the sack.

tszyu, collazo, philips, tackie, magee, urango, oliveira, thaxton, rowland etc etc.

and he's largely walloped the lot of em. :box: or won by wide margins on the cards.

i don't care about witter, so u can leave him out of it.

urango was one of the few disappointing spectacles in the guys entire 40 odd fight career. say what u want about the performances against collazo and maussa, but they were good fights.

more punches thrown in some of those rds than u get in entire junior witter fights.

ally pally or thomas & mack???? different worlds mate. :TU:

Given the Sack, don't think Hatton ever employed Warren or paid him a penny for his services so sacked? Whereas Hatton earned £7.5M from Warren so.....

It's clear that Hatton's reasons for leaving Warren were purely financial, he figured he could get more cash on the open market, and also figured it more likely to get big bucks by fighting in the states.

Blaming Warren for Hatton's poor roster of opponents is a bit ridiculous, Hatton made a bloody killing filling the MEN whilst fighting pigeons, and that is down to Warren's skilfull promotion, of that I have no doubt.

However, I doubt that Hatton would be fighting in Vegas if he was still with Warren, because Frank seems reluctant to hand accede any control over the promotion and it's purse strings by allowing his champions to fight abroad.

Hatton is doing very nicely at the moment, getting paid (or at least rumoured to be paid) a king's ransom, but the promotions themselves thus far haven't been huge, and haven't really earnt FA much, if accounts are to be believed of course.

I think it is questionable that Hatton is making much, if any more with FA, than he would have made with SN as a genuine champion.

nothing wrong with castillo.

zab judah loses warm up fights.

not castillo.

i agree on the mayweather fight.

i think it's dead now, but only cos mayweather is retiring.

hatton still has other opponents to take on.

mayweather is not the be all and end all.
The Return of The King.

Shut it Hitman, Hatton will retires nbeaten - he is just another Sven Ottke - but with a beer belly!

don't call it a comeback wrote:Think what you like about Hatton - though I note several of the posters slagging him off now also picked Tszyu to beat him convincingly two years ago - but to buy the picture FW is painting of himself as some great matchmaker looking to put his fighters in with the the most dangerous challengers only to have his lily livered fighters back out - well you would have to be naive beyond belief to even half believe that nonsense.
totally agree, FW always says he could get the fights but they all seem to fail to materialise, so heres a thought, Joe Calzaghe says he can't get B Hopkins, or Roy Jones or Glen Johnson to fight, yet....

Howard Eastman gets a fight with Hopkins,
Clinton Woods fights RJJ & Glen Johnson 3 times.

With all repects, the promoters of these fights have no where as much clout as FW yet they made the fights, FW & JC just come up with crap excuses.

One of FW's tactics is too say thay they offered the fight and were turned down, so what did they offer? Peanuts?

When you get a guy who can sell ppv and sell out the stadiums like Hatton can \could well then you get a guy who TELLS THE PROMOTER WHAT HE WANTS.

The promoter will then get the fights because if he don't theres a chance the fighter will walk, now Warren was so desperate too see the back off Hatton he started court cases to keep him.

Point being I believe that publicly at least Hatton said he wanted the big fights and Warren had no choice but to make them or at least make offers for them only for Hatton privatly too refuse them .

This gave wicky the excuse to leave and still earn big money getting the fights that he always wanted { the easier ones} and leaving the blame on not getting the big ones on Warren.
