Haye would win.

Harrison would probably burst into tears when they were signing the contracts & run away. :box:

i was very impressed with haye performance and at the minutue hes the one british boxer who i would pay to go and see. hes got more credentials than most other british boxers as in :

1. he doesnt want to take the easy route and he wants to fight the best
2. he seems to be his own man and not a puppet who says what hes told to say
3. he has a certain amount of charisma which i think is what the sport needs and which hasnt been seen since naz

I actually now think Haye could become the HW King, he could get KTFO too but I think he has all the gifts to be the best HW out there.

Haye's KO of Bonin was very impressive. Ok, Bonin is not the best HW out there, but I wonder how many people felt David would win by KO and in such quick fashion? There can't have been many, if any at all.

One thing you have to give Haye credit for, is his desire to test himself against tough opposition. Obviously, money plays a big part in any fighters career, but I think Haye is hungry to try & establish himself as the best out there. He wants the glory too!

Some fighters are just in the sport for the money, & once they get to a certain level, they're happy making decent money.

IMO, Haye would beat any other domestic HW right now. I do hope Haye-Mormeck does happen, as David deserves his crack at the Cruiserweight title. However, for Haye to make 200lbs once again could prove significent. I'm sceptica whether he'll actually be able to make 200lbs again?

Haye is what british boxing & boxing in general needs. As stated, I feel David's the best HW prospect we've got, so we should support & encourage him as best we can.

Haye is a genuine threat at HW, big doubts about his chin though. Agree with the posts on here, he would wipe out Audley and Sprott, depends which Danny Williams turns up, but would struggle with Skelton who wouldnt wilt under his punches. At world level, he would have a punchers chance against Vlad and Maskaev, dont know much about Chagaev

I'm not sure why we want to see british fighters beat each other up Im much more of a fan of spank a yank.

WHen he moves up to HW I would quite like to see him really busy so he can get 5 or so respected fighters under his belt befor he starts testing his chin with the top 5 HWs.

I think we are getting carried away it was a good performance but Bonin had suffered a KD in his last fight and he wasn't worthy of the ranking I wouldn't like to see him take on the world right away. WHat are maloney's contacts in the states like.

An interesting post script to this is that the progress of Froch and Haye as compaired to Harrison and Kahn say something for the quality of the ametre world championships as compaired to the Olympics.

It's hard to tell with less than a round being fought, but I was pleased to see David keeping his hands up a bit more than usual. He was cautious, but confident. Poor old Bonin didn't have time to recover from the first bloody jab to the face! It was all down-hill for him from there.

The wheels will fall off the Hayemaker train if he loses the unification to Mormeck though. What would he do? Continue his pursuit of CW greatness, or just forget about it and go back up to heavy?

I think the real test will be seeing if he can go ten rounds with a hard hitting heavy weight. He can dish out the big bombs, but can he really take them?

People are getting far too carried away with this result - It had early KO written all over it.

I was actually surprised to see some guys who know their beans seeming to think that if it went past 6-7 rounds, that Bonin had a real chance.

I don't feel it has proven anything that we didn't aready know about Haye.

Well Bonin was never hurt against Audley and we didn't know Hayes punches would be effective at HW. Yes he needs to move up the calibre of opponent but Haye has all the assets to be a HW world champ imo (perhaps other than chin - but the jurys still out on that 1). I'd pick him over all the HW title holders other than Wlad right now and against Wlad he has a better shot than most. Would it be that suprising to see Haye spark Wlad?

goodness me - the next mystic meg (come and join the rest of us who nailed the result) and that stuff about audley was absolutely spot on. who's gonna win the derby this year?

calm down fellas, its hayes stamina and chin we have to think about not his excellent attacking abilities. i'd love to see this boy win the world title, he is the most exciting fighter in europe and is nothing to do with waaaren, so thats even better, but i'd also hate to see him tagged by some big yank. so i prefer to wait a little longer before having a pop at our american boxrec friends

Explosive stuff from Haye. The manner of victory was really impressive and dealt with Bonin how a guy going places should. A good international win, looking forward to the next instalment :box:

What more can you ask him to do? It was uncharted territory stepping up to heavy after tackling good Euro level cruisers. He jerked the guy's head back with jabs and did the business on him.

The jab looked superb from Haye. We always get plenty of talk from Adam Booth beforehand but he wasn't joking. David's jab looks a really potent weapon.

I was thinking the same thing....Haye should aim for the slightly less durable heavyweights out there - Biggs, Wlad, Maskaev - he's in with a big chance in the first couple of rounds, as those fast & deadly punches of his are heading towards his opponent's chin.

He better stay clear of the durable types though, like Sam Peter.

An exciting addition to the HW ranks no doubt - someone is gonna get flattened, that much you can be sure of.

And HOW bad was that ring entrance music? :D If I had been the ref I'd have deducted two points immediately.

Why did he decide on Ainsley Hariott rapping him into the ring?

Put Haye in their with a top-10 heavy like Luan Krasniqi, Calvin Brock or Monte Barrett

If Haye can do the business against Mormeck (a massive ask considering how much Haye says he struggles to make cruiser and considering how a light puncher like Fragomeni really pushed him back and found him so easy to catch) and then beat one of the aformentioned heavyweights in style, then he can start calling out the big men like Klitschko et al.

Against Bonin Haye showed what we already know. If he clocks you good and proper, chances are you'll go down or be hurt.

Fair enough, Haye can't be faulted at all for how easily he brushed Bonin aside, but let's not start tossing each other off yet.

I would still be fascinated by a Haye vs Danny Williams fight after Haye has finished with the Cruiserweight devision. Of course Williams in the shape he was in last time.

I think Williams would have done a similar number vs Bonnin.

Not trying to put a dampener on things, you cannot fault that performance. However, I don't think taking Harrison's shots guarentees a cast iron chin. Mark Krence has fallen to fighters not considered big punchers, but not Harrison, for example.

Please Haye fans, I'm not saying I don't think Haye would floor anyone else at Heavy. I do think that - but I do also think Skelton and an in form Danny could do a number on Bonnin too.

Danny Williams already has 'done a David Haye', or have you all forgot?

Remember Ratko Draskovic? Ugly hairy fella, had never been stopped. Lasted the full 8 with Audley pretty easily. Then Danny Williams comes in on only a few days notice and ices Draskovic in 1 rd, effortless 1 punch kayo.

Another fine example of Audleys skills.

Bad comparison, Danny Williams was a genuine big man, and an experienced heavyweight campaigner.

The fact that Haye, not even a hugely seasoned cruiserweight, who has had only one fight at top level (Thompson, which he lost), can move up and squash Bonin like a bug, would suggest that if nothing else, his power early in a heavyweight fight means he is in with a shout of stopping all but the most stout chins in the division.

I wasnt disagreeing with that.

I was just pointing out that other fellas who make a name v Audley subsequently get squashed against talanted fighters.

Haye has power early. Happy?

I suppose.

I'm also not going to get TOO excited by this win over Bonin. It's an impressive result for a step up to heavyweight, but there are obviously better and more dangerous heavyweights out there for Haye to take on.

We have also yet to see what happens when a heavyweight lands one on the puss.
