I thought even Welterweight was too much for Ricky?

Wouldn't happen though anyway.
Just Hatton talking shite as usual.

How to take a star and turn him in to a nobody, Give FA to look after you.

Britain's most exciting fighter in his biggest fight since beating Kosta Tszyu in 2005 and it's on a second-rate satellite sports channel. And people wonder why boxing is on the way down.

I have to agree with Boxingchat if its on Setanta it wont get a big build up. Why did he choose fight academy?

When he was with FW was contracted to fight on Showtime. All the other big names after KT were on HBO, Ricky wanted to fight with the best..

So the main answer is that FA have no contractual obligations to American TV

All of the British boxing journalists in Vegas thought this a done deal - may even be a Setanta press conference/announcement as early as tomorrow.

The best thing that could possibly happen for british boxing.
Yep, kick the buggers into line because if they're calling the shots it'll ALWAYS be about getting moderate opponents for good money. Never let a fighter or promoter have their way with a TV channel, never ever.

I don't know WTF is going on here but I did not post that comment. Someone has accessed my password. If you think that I am up at 5.12am on a BH Monday, you must be kidding.

Very odd, but not me.

Boxrec, please investigate.

sit at your master's feet B/C. maybe if you can think up good ways to sell less than nothing to a thick public, he'll be kind and throw you a bone.

but ricky has not fought the best since KT... mausa, urango, collazo etc etc... no where near the best any of them.

mayweather, cotto, witter etc etc.. malignaggi is better than any of hattons recent opponents.

Not sure why Witters there but hey...

Collazo was a big name loved by HBO but i will give you Maussa and Urango...

But Castillo?? Ricky wouldnt have been able to fight him if he was with Showtime!
And although im not going to join in the 'lets bash Warren' bandwagon do you think that Warren would have let him fight 3 differant world champs, vacate belts to get the bigger fight and basically have free reign to do what he wants??

Me neither

Question is why sky did not want hatton next fight? Going to setanta is a strange move why not go to BBC.

but the hatton fans keep saying that its not about belts...so you cant use that in your arguament, cos hatton ditched them anyway.

and as for why is witter there........its because witter is the fight that proves hatton is the best in britain, something every british fighter should do. listen to the words from chico coralles.....its not about money !!

Err KNOW it isn't mate.

It's no-one as in nobody.
Not know-one as in knowledge.

Tut tut. If you're going to correct people's spelling and grammer, make sure you've got it right first.

You're right. However, I agree with the post but I did not write it nor did I ghet up at 5am to do it. Someone has used my name/password. I know who it is now so no issues or conspiricies.

Ant Evans, been sued lately?

Looking at Hatton career since leaving sportsnetwork, its not progressing very well. Why did he not join an American promoter?

No, but I will be suing whoever keeps breaking into my account and posting things in my name.

Seriously BoxRec, you really need to look into this rather disgraceful practice! First dear Mr Boxingchat and now me! Sort it out! :TU:
