After he put Burgos in the hospital he openly boasted about how he was delibertly inflicting damage on the former 105-pound champion by punishing him 1 shot at a time. Burgos almost died, and Darchinyan is boasting about almost killing him. He is widely reputed to be a complete dick within the industry. According to reports from reliable sources even his own cornermen were happy to see him taught some humility. He's an arrogant shittalker, and not in a Naseem Hamed "I'm being a dick but at least its entertaining" way, he's just being himself. I read that Vic said he wanted to win by KO but wanted Burgos to walk out of the ring unharmed, have also read that he supposedly said he wants to KO everyone but hurt no one.

His corner did'nt want him beat, the inference was that they felt Darchinyan's arrogance was getting the better of him and that he needed to realise his limitations. The source was at maxboxing.
As for what you say about him comments towards Burgos, that is not was he has been quoted at fightnews as saying recently.
