dylan was a terrific tunesmith as well.

any of his mid 60's albums are essentials.

dylan was a terrific tunesmith as well.

any of his mid 60's albums are essentials.

Dylan songs were better done by others, the Byrds really knew how to translate and get the best out of Dylans writing - Dylan and Kristofferson have a lot in common, both brilliant writers but neither had much of a voice - Dylan took his name from Dylan Thomas seeing himself as a poet as well as a songwriter - Lay lady lay was the best of his earlier work.

The early stuff by The Beatles was great because of its simplicity - The later recordings with George Martin were far more sophisticated and technical by comparison but were also great in their own way - Its hard enough for anyone to write a hit song but Lennon and Macca wrote dozens which sets them aside from others in pop music history - George Harrison wrote some good stuff himself - Its hard to understand "Beatlemania" unless you are old enough to have experianced it, as I am - Listening to their music all these years later and judging it alongside bands that came much later helps nobody in understanding how brilliant they were - After Rock N Roll came to an end in about 1961, there were a lot of slushy ballards about, and pop music became dull - Then came Merseybeat and pop became exciting once more, certainy once the Beatles got going - Dont understand the comment about Lennon being "sub human scum", I could understand if you were describing Ian Huntley though.

I would not be too self-congratulatory though if I was him. So he will have a made a competitive fight, that is his job.

Its a good thing we dont all like the same singers, bands or just things in general - James Blunt is great, I like him a lot, but I like James Morrison a lot better - I am a bit biased though having known James very well, for more than three years before he hit the big time - Absolutely brilliant kid, I really miss him, we drank a lot of tea (and beer sometimes) together and chatted for hours - I introduced him to Cat Stevens who he now lists as one of his big influences along with his favourite singer Stevie Wonder - James used to give my wife and I exclusive "concerts" in his back garden - He didnt need the studio to sound brilliant - Anyway as you said in your posting, back to the boxing - If a fight between Joe and Kessler has been made that is great news - I didnt want to see him fight Taylor, I would prefer to see Pavlik to take Taylor on - Kessler is THE fight and if Joe can beat him I think that will give Joe the respect he deserves.
