Had a long break from buying it, but started again about 3 months ago.

I always enjoy reading other people's view and opinions whether it be in a magazine or on the net, but you can't beat hard copy imo.

I used to get BN all the time. I have got loads of them in the loft.
I probably stopped ten years ago as well. No idea why.
From what I have read here I think I will give it another go.

still buy it every week my locval shop owner always stocks it for me and keeps a copy back if im away for the weekend.

To those who do regularly read it and have done for a while, which was your favourite style?

- The dirt cheap, B&W newspaper print version
- The first "magazine" style when it was rejigged after Abrams took over
- The tabloid format
- The current version

From a personal point of view, I consider myself as a bit of an anorak, i prefered the newpaper print version.

It concentrated more on the grass roots, felt very real somehow, I even liked the feel of it really!

However I still like the current version, and I do accept the commercial needs for the mainsteam and adverts etc, without that BN would probably not still be alive.

Newspaper version.

I preferred the magazine format, either the current one or the previous A4 glossy. This one is slicker, but the old one had nice sidebars and records etc accompanying the previews, although I guess that is less necessary these days, with BoxRec. 48 pages a week is a good chunk, though. I personally wouldn't like to go back to the old 28-page newspaper.

You may feel that 48 pages is a good chunk, but that includes a lot of adverts(usually bout 10 pages) and a lot of gloss.

The paper version was more concentrated and u certainly had as much information.

This is not to say I don't like the current version, I still buy it and I am a fan.

I preferred BN pre- 1992 format..that was all boxing news.
Now it has too much pix, adverts and amateurs. :(

It does have some of the best writers, and one or two mediocre ones..

But I do enjoy Claudes page for the tit-bits and his views, he is moving away from the SN arse-hole scraping, and waking up to the damage the prospect v journeyman is doing to ticket sales.

I don`t subscribe anymore, just can`t fall in love with it that much nowadays…but will pick up a copy when its there…and don`t worry when its not.
