Scored it 9-3 Lynes. Think Lynes tried to close the show in the last two and it was a bit of a bad tactic. I gave Morrison rounds 11 and 12.

well stu, you are spot on. this is def the best domestic performance of 2007. if you knew what i know about lynes present appalling situation you'd have no doubt about it whatsoever but because i respect the lad i'm gonna keep the facts to myself. you did us proud colin.

I take it Sky are not contracted to show Snowoski in action. I was looking forward to that and the result indicates it might have been a good one.

What happend to Damean Owen, I was having a poo when that fight took place. Did he lose, it didn't look good from the clips.

Don't take this the wrong way MMA fans, but does anyone know if Alex Stoda has a background in MMA or Karate.

Know, its not a dig at his ability or rough house ways, just his stance - looked like he had come out of the Kobra Kai Dodgo.

The show opener was a Matchroom event, fed live to TVN Poland. A 10 round, International heavyweight contest between Albert Sosnowski 16st 6lb 6oz the WBF Heavyweight Champion and the French Heavyweight Champion Steve Herelius 15st 1lb 8oz. Decent crowd of expat Poles in Scotland cheering their man on.

Both men were surprisingly agile for heavyweights, and indeed were boxing well. Herelius allowed Sosnowski take the lead in the proceedings which would definitely have cost him had it gone the distance. Sosnowski caught Herelius several times with some powerful shot but Herelius seemed to shake them off, even mocking the Pole on occassion. A couple of times the Frenchman slumped on the ropes, feigning injury, but failed to fool the WBF Champ into coming forward. Sosnowski stuck to his game plan and a series of unanswered combinations in the 9th round brought referee Victor Loughlin in to call a halt. RSF 2:18, 9th round.

Incidentally, what did anyone think of MC Gary Logan's performance?

Seen him do alot better, he completely flaffed Colin Lynes' fight record (3 draws"!). Also, I wish he would learn his lines a little bit more thorough, nothing looks least proffesional than an MC just reading. Very rare to see the big name Americans look at the cue cards at all... and to his credit Michael Pass.

However, I think Logan could be better than Pass - he is more charasmatic and doesn't quite have such an annoying tone as a Pass. Michael's "Ladiiiiees and Gentleman" in the same blooming tone everytime is annoying.

He also forgot to mention the promoter, Matchroom, called the show Friday Night Fight (twice), didn't read Colin's credentials, as in former undefeated IBO Lightwelterweight Champion of the World and didn't give the Champion (going in) his nickname "The Bizness".

I agree with your comments on Michael Pass and Mike Goodall does make some gaffes but I honestly think that John Mcdonald takes some beating.

Pedro Verdu of Venezuela went in with 8 wins & 8 losses but all 8 wins were inside the distance. Damian Owen started on the offensive with fast hands and, for me, took the 1st. Verdu got a ticking off in the 2nd for a low blow but in the 3rd, he dropped Owen with an explosive shot. He was up by the 8 count but was a bit unsteady. Verdu saw the opening and set about Damian prompting the stoppage at 1:03, round 3.
