When has Hide ever fought petrified? Never. He comes out throwing leather and at least goes for it even if he does get KO'd. With a marauding Hide coming at him throwing bombs you can bet Harrison would have been backpedalling as quickly as possible and panicking - as he always has when someone comes charging at him - the Williams fights being an example even the one he won he was cacking himself at times.

i'm with you on this one nick, Hide has shared a ring with Bowe and Vitali, repeatedly getting up against Bowe and has only been the full distance once in his career, always looking for a knockout. Sure, Audley may clip him with a jab that sends him to the floor but Hide's name shouldn't be thrown in with Audleys when it comes to going into your shell and not making a fight of it.

Hide may be a twat and have possibly the worst beard in boxing but his fights are usually very entertaining at the least

I've a feeling that Herbie will spring one or two surprises before his career is done.

When has Hide foght petrified? did you see him against riddick bowe?

There is a lot of delusion on here when it comes to Herbie Hide!! Far too much respect for a guy who hasn't shown too much of it himself and while he had potential, he had a terrible chin and was found out when he came anywhere near world class....

He's lucky bowe was on the slide......it would have been a KO in 1 previously.

It's like those who still think Audley has something up his sleeve......then it's one disappointment, a false dawn, another disappointment etc etc.

He must have big sleeves.

Because he's had ample opportunity to pull these hidden abilities out by now.

He'll kick around for a while and he'll always have a puncher's chance but the so will every opponent.

The only surprise I see is he keeps turning up for fights.

Exactly, people want him to go into a fight and hope he will land before his opponent?

I don't hold too much faith in Hide, it seems others on here have even less...

Lets not forget that he is moving down in weight.

Hide's problem was always his punch resistance, but he is facing men some 30-40 + lbs lighter than he was at heavyweight, and I think that could make a big difference.

I thought he outboxed Bowe early on but then Riddick landed an innocuous looking jab and dropped Herbie, when he rose his eyes were spaced and Bowe proceeded to pummel him repeatedly to the canvas. At least that is how i remember it.

Didn't Bowe say that Hide had the hardest punch he'd ever felt?

herbie is a plank i remember him when he was at the matchroom one day he was getting ready to spar and this fella walked in with blood all over him he,d been atacked outside herbie being a dick ran out and chinned this bloke and started kicking him all up the street until his trainer and a couple of boxers dragged him away after that it turned out that the first bloke was court with the second bloke,s misses and was attacked but herbie couldn,t understand that he shouldn,t be doing things like that to people and that it was nothing to do with him and to stay out of it he is not very street wise in fact i would say he has a very bad attitude and needs to sort it out

He isn't even ranked by the WBO, so he must be shit. Still, he has 3 KOs from 25 fights, so there's always a chance it could go either way.

Not bad, he's the only man ever to beat Juri Finski, which is some result...( also the only man to ever fight Finski - a minor point )

One thing you know about McCall: he can punch, HARD, and he's impossible to hurt, so you wonder why Sam is bulking up like he wants to go to war.
