For everyone fearing for ITV's future covering boxing, don't get too downhearted about Rawling and Duke going to Setanta. It's strictly a loan deal.

Lol, who says I pay 4 it, ive cable and I have both packages for free.
Was gonna say the same thing if people looked into alternative suppliers such as NTL were you get both sky sports and Setanta as bolt ons then maybe they wouldnt be so bitter. Think about it if hatton vs castillo was on sky it would be a ppv costing around £40 so if you get setanta for the three months for £18 purely for the fight it still works out cheaper!!

Sky is shite as a whole anyway irrespective of the boxing coverage seriously if people ae being honest they watch maybe a dozen channels regularly out of how many hundred?
£40 quid surely not, I have never known PPV to be higher than £14.99 - Cant believe anyone would be prepared to pay Sky that much - Fair point about watching just a few channels out of the huge number available - My wife has her favourites and I have mine and to be honest that adds up to less than a dozen.

Well it's a hybird of ITV/Sky so far - Bunce just LOVES the sound of his own voice a bit too much though ( Trust me! ) and spends A LOT of time trying to convince everyone he's been in the sport longer than anyone else. Ever.

And what's with the dark age pillar box 4:3 pictures when it comes to a US satellite feed? Why not 16x9 pictures like everything else?

I suppose it IS rocket science...

There's NO stopping him!

Must be a big relief for John and Duke to be commentating on some decent fights for once :TU:

Maloney earned his fee for the night with this comment.

"Bunce was saying he thinks Echols should retire, if he keeps commentating like that I think HE should retire."

"he's got to push him back"

ffs buncey.

to do that he needs to come forward a little himself.

make ya mind up bunce.

one minute he's saying he don't need to get involved.

the next minutes he's saying for hatton to back the guy up.

just get ya arse in the press section fatty.

Good one I missed that, the Echols fight was a bit painful to watch & I missed the last 5 rounds. Yeah Frank can be a bit droll at times :TU:

God help us if Ricky gets in trouble tonight: Bunce will likely blow a fuse, push Gentleman John out of the way and take over the commentary himself.

Bunce "One half are chanting for Hatton and the other half are chanting Mexico for Vasquez!"

John "Even though he's from Puerto Rico?"

Bunce "...Even though he's from Puerto Rico"

Please get rid of seedy old man Hart, disagreeable miser McGiggle and never let Malone back on. Obviously the main thing was to have tension between the guys. Colin 'Lennox is Gay' Hart sitting next to Maloney who promoted Lennox. All 3 of 'em dissecting the commentary crew of Bunce, Duke and Rawling.

Maloney was WAY out of line. He will never get a studio job on Setanta again. Saying that Bunce should retire from commentating. Dempsey's apropriate, telling him "that's out of order."

Too many egos. Especially in the studio. They're trying to lord it up and look superior to the comm team. If they are right that Echols was okay to carry on all the way through, then why the eff was Nady, the ref, telling Echols to buckle down or he'll stop it? Sorry Bazza, Colin and Maloney, you're full of it. Echols' kegs were gone, his could barely defend himself, and it was only Zuniga's ineptness/wear and tear that kept Echols in it.

Bunce showed up McG. Saying I won't criticise Matthew Hatton's opponent in case they pull his record up while they're sitting there drinking tea!

btw what a howler - Barry quoting Zuniga's record to say Zuniga is a puncher. What a prick.

they could bomb the studio (ok, evacuate Dempsey) and we wouldn't miss anything tonight.

Don't see why really, he knows a lot more about the game than Buncey I'd say. And what about Bunce having a bet with Rawlings that Echols will be brain damaged in 10 years times? Real classy that.

So you endorse Bunce as a member of the commentary team then do you? I think that McGuigan was spot on in correcting the fat chancer. And Maloney's comment was apt. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near serious boxing commentary in running IMO. Let him write about it and/or cheerlead it, because that's all he is fit for IMO of course.

Lack of professionalism in the studio. Gross lack in Maloney's case. Maybe Barry's just in a bad mood with the Steve Cruz flashbacks. Perhaps they should do a dramatic, stylised, movie style flashback scene so that we understand and empathise with Barry. Because he's grating and hard to watch. God knows how Hart gets on TV - he's bilge.

Good to see Bunce has a sense of humour. He made those tea drinkers look like arseholes with zero personality. Who wants to watch 3 arrogant, abrasive pricks?

Don't think Bunce said Echols would be brain damaged. More like some sad deluded guy wandering Vegas gyms trying to be yes man to whomever...you know, like tyrell biggs did with kirk johnson type (though in a different locale).

man, you are full o' shit. Even NADY was concerned. It's a case of the guys away from the action trying to play god.

Course he was talking about punchy fighters, the comment came just after they were saying Echols was taking too many clean shots to the head.
Just saying you can't really pull up Maloney about giving him a bit of stick back when he comes out with crass comments like that himself.

They do seem to be wanting to score points from each other. Whether Barry was a prick to bring up Zuniga's record.... I think he was correct to mention it.

Barry has been excellent today, no hint of bias at all. The only one to really say that Hatton has looked ordinary in his last three outings.

Please no more Duke and Bunce for future shows. John Rawling has been brilliant, one of his best performances in a live TV fight. Duke is full of cliches.... I think you make a drinking game based on him.

"Gaining more confidence with every second"

"Push comes to shove"

Frequent use of the word "Daylight".

As for Bunce, don't think I can remember what he has said all night.

Now Bunce is saying Cotto is a small Welterweight. Sorry, disagree there.

Also disagree that Judah tried to lose the fight in the first... Not sure what he did, but certainly didn't TRY to lose the fight. All this is followed by a "trust me". People who didn't see the fight would believe this!

Frank Maloney is bang on the money with this waffle now.

Hatton's Irish roots? Lets see him have a cut?

"lets get it straight" "trust me".

No, can they fly Jim Watt over next time.
