Well most of that list are all time greats, and even Hatton's biggest fans couldn't argue Ricky has hit those hights by a long shot.

Arguello, Pryor, Chavez, Benitez?? Different class. Even at LW, Alexis still hit like a wreaking ball - add to that boxing skills that were out of this world and you couldn't give Hatton much chance there.

And Pryor was an unstopable force. Even Sugar Ray gave that one a miss.

Chavez - well it would have been a helluva fight while it lasted, but obviously JC had every strength RH has, and then some, so you can't really give Ricky much chance there either.

And if Benitez didn't bother training, and he often didn't, then maybe Ricky has a slight chance, but he was pretty much untouchable at 140: just imagine, Hatton getting trounced by a 17 year old!

Jim Amato sucks. Can't believe you even print the guy. No offense, but you criticise DHB's plebian site yet BBN are willing to publish these short, insubstantial snippets, not even backed up with any evidence or insight. If I wrote for the same site, I would be embarrassed. Just hope you don't pay the guy anything.

Well, you are entitled to your views. Of course, you don't write for the same site, so you have nothing to be embarrassed about. I do (less than I'd like) and am not embarrassed in the slightest.

The British press (especially tabloid) often get the achievements of our sportsmen out of perspective and it was just interesting to get a very harsh/fair assessment of Ricky's standing from an American who has been around boxing for a long time.

What 'evidence' or 'insight' were you expecting? He just very briefly (insubstantial if you like) gives his opinion. I'm not saying he's right, of course - I merely gave his opinions an airing because I found them interesting, and to get people talking.

I don't criticise the Doghouse site, merely it's British forum, which is terrible from almost every perspective.

A sober and clean Aaron Pryor beats anyone at that weight, from any era.
